Re: Corrupt Zone Header
I posted a brief tutorial here: http://comport.jediholo.net/viewtopic.p ... 077#p78077. It's not the most detailed, and the screenshots are for an old version of the Steam client, but the changes have been mostly cosmetic.

Re: How to Pronounce Your Name
Akalenn : Ah-kah-len (with emphasis on the n). Nira'kalen'nuruodo : the "proper" pronunciation is beyond the capabilities of most humanoids, but for your OOC amusement, I pronounce it Nih-ra-kah-len-noo-roo-oh-doh - try rolling the rs and say it as fast as you can. And then there's the oh...

[EDIT]: I've realised this is somewhat tangential to the main purpose of the thread, which is focusing on the actual mechanics of shooting, but I'll leave this here as a few thoughts on how we implement gunner roles into activities. Specialised classes are a gameplay mechanic in their own right, af...

I think you might be referring to recoil? I'm not actually sure if blasters have recoil, though some form of reticule bloom would fit the bill (ie accuracy drops the longer you hold down the trigger). Regardless, the ability to control the backpedal speed (and movement speed in general) would be a n...

Adding that option to all classes, either in the form of a boolean flag (on or off) or a multiplier (1.0 for full-speed, 0.5 for half-speed, etc) would be excellent. Being able to control the forward/strafe speeds would also be useful, I reckon. We might not necessarily use them very often, but I re...

Whether or not it's complicated to implement is more or less irrelevant as Soh is the only one having to write any of the code (and as a point of interest, both JKA and the idTech 3 engine are written in good old-fashioned C ). I can see a more flexible /rpempower command coming in useful, particula...

I can definitely see this being a potentially useful and interesting feature. However, I can also see the potential for abuse. /rplogin <username> <password> Welcome back, <name>. You have 400 new messages. /me Weeps openly I exaggerate, as I doubt we'd login to find 400 messages offering us methods...

Armour in Star Wars would function much the same as kevlar vests function in the present. Blaster bolts only have a finite amount of energy. The purpose of the armour would be to absorb as much of that energy as possible, thereby turning a fatal shot to the chest into something less fatal. It would ...
