They were never meant to be boys and girls dormitories originally and the spawn points were never meant to reflect this, as far as i'm aware. To the best of my knowledge you randomly spawn in either dormitory. The Knights and Masters have the same thing, occasionally alternating between either room....

The only meaningful change i can see possibly being made to storm is if storm 5 was made to resemble Force Storm from KotOR.. IE raise a hand in the air and you get a 360 degree blast.
