I don't really think Feksk was -that- corrupt, seeing as Gabe did serve him as a military Advisor or something around those lines, I think the main reason to why Gabe killed Feksk was because it was to bring a quicker/immediate end to the war and (I think) felt guilty about the whole war.

No, im pretty sure it was jumping from the top of the control tower or down those elevators I remember when ever any body was stuck in the water they'd just get rescued , and on Yavin I think it's the big elevator to the first floor and that little ledge which people fall off outside the hall.
