Public Information
Publicly Available Information on the events
Level of Exposure: Sector
  • A civilian shuttle transporting mundane goods to Kenzie, some of which destined for the Praxeum, was declared missing on 381.24.
  • The RSF conducted an initial investigation, unable to locate the ship.
  • A Jedi Team was dispatched to investigate the last known coordinates of the ship, as provided by the RSF.
  • Arriving in #42X31 in the Sector, the Jedi located and rescued survivors of the ship, who were drifting uncontrolably in space.
  • The survivors revealed that the ship had been boarded by pirates. The team retrieved the coordinates from the life-pod, and jumped to them.

Knight Security Clearance
Information available to Knights+
  • The ship was found powered down, drifting in space, no other vessel nearby. Padawan Lothaire and Undine were tasked to investigate.
  • Upon boarding the ship, the team found the survivors and was informed that the so called pirates were a team of three highly trained mercenaries.
  • One of the mercenaries disagreed with the team, shut off the engines, returned to his vessel and departed. The other two remained on board and tried to take control of the ship.
  • After confrontation, one of the mercenaries committed suicide by blowing himself, while the other was apprehended by Padawan Lothaire.
  • There were no serious injuries among the crew.

Jedi Council Clearance
Information available to Council+ and mission attendees.
  • The Mercenaries were highly skilled and experts in stealth and board operations, and managed to remain one step ahead of the Jedi until the end.
  • Upon their inspection of the ship and their cargo, it became apparent that Jedi tunics and blank security cards had been stolen. The rest of the cargo was untouched.

Potential: A few rotations before the mission, while on a routine water retrieval task with Master Atreus and Padawans Undine, Fost and Varga, we came under scrutiny and fire from a mercenary, who attempted to block us from getting clear water. The mercenary had with him a probe droid, and appeared to be highly trained in marksmanship.

Taking into consideration all of the above, it becomes quite clear that someone has hired those mercenaries with very specific orders. My suspicions are:
  • The crew was not supposed to live. The mercenaries attempted to initially make their attack seem like piracy, and remove all traces of the attack. They failed, and upon finding out that a life pod escaped I believe one of them decided to leave. Probably to put the blame on the ones remaining behind?
  • Whoever paid those mercenaries, is a dangerous foe. Why would a person with no other loyalties other than himself would commit suicide upon failing?
  • The stolen materials were the primary goal, and anything other was collateral damage.
  • Despite her actions, I would suggest upping the security for the surviving mercenary. She has certainly earned the ire of her employer.
  • I suggest upgrading all Rannon's security equipment to work with biometrics, and suspend any and all uses of ID cards.
  • Send reports to all RSF forces to be suspicious and inform of any person seen wearing a robe.
  • Similar to the above, all Jedi moving in and out of the temple should notify of their presence to local authorities, for the sake of transparency.

Padawan Undine.

In response to your recommendations.
  • The only life pod missing was the one you recovered on the Yavin Runner. Having read through the testimony of Wanve’dirisoar is appears the third member of their party left with their own ship, abandoning the two mercenaries.
  • Information on the current status of Wanve’dirisoar can be found on the included link.
  • If you are able to discuss such an implementation of such an update to the security equipment to use biometrics with Master Salar, I would appreciate it. If he is happy to undertake the work, then he may do so.
  • RSF have been notified of the incident and are on alert.

Potential:
Confirmed: The mercenary Wanve’dirisoar is brought into the Rannon Praxeum and interrogated by Padawan Maeve Lothaire. Through the interrogation the Order has to come to know of many details concerning the attack on the shuttle. Wanve’dirisoar and her partner were hired by an old man, seemingly obssessed with the targeted cargo, to the point where he went himself with the two mercenaries to see the job underway. This client, according to Wanve’dirisoar is not their usual client, paid them plenty and in cash.

Stealing Jedi clothes and equipment is extremely dangerous, the thought that someone may attempt impersonating Jedi individuals in the future is something we should be wary of, and thus my recommendations will be..
  • Backgrounds of any future members of the Order must be checked thoroughly before their institution within the Order
  • Crews of various delivery shuttles and crews in a similar line of work need further and advanced training to learn to handle situations such as the one that had occurred
  • Looking further into discovering the identity of the two mercenaries' usual client, as some clues may be found
