Level of Exposure: Planet (We have gone around asking questions to quite a few people in the village)
  • At our arrival on Cadomai Prime, Jedi Knight Anya asked our help to find more information on the local culture of the village we were in. Leaving us with her droid Andre to translate for us. We went through multiple households to ask questions on local folklore.

  • The locals have told us about stories their great grandparents or grandparents told them, they seemed to follow a theme. The first was widow who told us about a story she uses to keep her children from staying out a night, that a large moon with a red circle comes out every so many years, and with it came tall scary monsters that can take anyone, she said her husband was taken. In the second, a father told of a story that his great grandfather and his wife went to the 'City of Lights' a beautiful place, there they gambled and made a profit, but in the night the wife spoke to other strange women, he then said that after they talked they started to walk away, his great grandfather ran after them but they had vanished in the crowd to never be seen again. In the third it was an old shaman, we asked her about the City of Lights, she seemed to say it was an estate around there a century ago, where children used to roam as it seemed abandonned. Eventually a woman, who wasn't the same species as them, more human, who had made profit before, moved in there. She mentioned that people living there were secretly wicked, and children would disappear there, some people however got out, and they said that they were trying to eat something out of them, and that no children should go near.

  • After asking, the Lady also mentioned that the woman who moved in, was extremely tall, which relates to the story of large scary monsters. After talking with children, the moon with a red circle was mentioned to them and they seemed to mention it was parts of stories told to them aswell. After we left the third house, a man had a seizure close to a bridge, he was brought to the hospital. There, the man died, and there was no reason found for it, but a sort of small worm was found inside of him. None of the three household felt comfortable answering questions after a little while, and we were often asked to leave, except for the first house. The second house felt uncomfortable when we asked about the city of lights, the lady of the third house felt uncomfortable when Jedi Initiate Rutrik asked if the children who disappeared were special at all.

  • During the conversations with the first and third lady, they have offered tea, Jedi Initiate Vuren and Jedi Initiate Vale drank it, while Jedi Initiate Rutrik had not. After learning of the worm inside of the man, we were tested at our return to the temple, and Jedi Knight Anya, Jedi Initiate Vuren, Jedi Initiate Vale have been found to be infected with something that resembled a flu. Before the first lady was interrupted, she was going to mention her husband worked with a company and was sent to work to "Can-", later "Cantonica" was mentioned by the third lady, the first lady was probably going to say Cantonica aswell.

In my opinion, the tea flu isn't related to the stories, and more of it being something they are used to that we aren't, the first lady mentioned the tea was made locally, a 'red herring'?. Disappearances in the past are in the City of Lights, while current disappearances are in Cantonica, with the husband of the first lady, while the old shaman mentioned people living in the City of Lights moved to Cantonica. I believe the Moon with a red circle might be the sign the City of Lights used to have. I believe the City of Lights might have been a casino, as the great grandparents of the man went there to gamble, Cantonica has disappearances and the mention of Casino's is made, which might be a connection...

My recommendations are as follows...
  • Check the local Cadomai Prime tea making process, in case it may be related.
  • Look into Cantonica's disappearances, for worms and for any suggestions that the City of Lights' residents moved around the casino's there.
  • Investigate further the stories about the City of Lights within the village.

Level of Exposure: Planet
  • We arrived at the gates of a village on the planet Cadomai Prime, at which point Knight Anya tasked the three initiates with gathering local stories, information that might not be easily found in books.
  • With the help of Knight Anya's droid, Andre, the three initiates began to roam through the village, seeking those that might speak with them.
  • At least three dwellings were visited by the group, along with at least three groups along the roads through the village.

  • At all three dwellings visited, the locals would begin to tell stories of locals disappearing for varied reasons. Some made it sound as though it was due to riches gained while others stated the disappearances were random and the reasons for them unknown, with others still saying that it was only children that would disappear.
  • Mentions of a "Red Moon" and a "City of Lights" were made by several of the locals spoken with.
  • There were also mentions of a group of strange women involved in most of these stories.
  • All of these stories seem to have been handed down by grandparents or great-grandparents, with a belief that these disappearances had not happened for at least a century.

  • Of all those inquired, each seemed to be hesitant to continue with the story once the disappearances were mentioned.
  • The first dwelling, while it appeared that the mother's children getting rambunctious was the reason for her asking the group to leave, she had become unsettled after disclosure of the disappearance.
  • The second dwelling visited, the inhabitants seemed uneasy to be speaking of the tale at all.
  • In the last dwelling visited, the elderly woman living there was happy to tell her version of the story until Initiate Rutrik Dagath asked her if there was anything special about the children that disappeared. She refused to answer the question and became silent after asking the group to leave, despite Initiate Rutrik Dagath's insistence that she answer.

  • In the first and third dwellings visited by the group, a local tea was offered, of which Initiate Vale Sutherblaze and Initiate Vuren Nilim accepted, with Initiate Rutrik Dagath refusing each time.
  • Shortly after leaving the third dwelling, a local man was seen by the group seizing on the ground, with causes unknown to them at the time. This was when Knight Anya reunited with the group.
  • With the man being picked up by local medical professionals and taken to the nearby hospital, it was discovered that he had some kind of parasite in his stomach which was believed to have been the cause of his death.
  • On return to the shuttle and with further examination at the Rannon Praxeum, Knight Anya, Initiate Vale Sutherblaze, and Initiate Vuren Nilim were found to have also had this parasite in their systems, all of whom had drank the tea offered to them by the locals.

In my opinion, some of these "clues" left by gaps in the stories and the apparent local resistance to this parasite (Given that it appears to be a local custom to drink the tea believed to be involved with the infection) lead me to believe that there is some link to Force Sensitivity, though this is only a gut feeling at this time.
The disappearance of the children to have something eaten from them, the spotiness of the disappeances, the belief that this has not occured for nearly a century (I have come across old news stories of a disease that affected only those sensitive to the Force nearly a century ago in some of my deeper dives into information about the Core worlds) are all that I have to lead me to this theory.

My recommendations are as follows:
  • Check into the local tea and its brewing process to try and discover if it is indeed tied to the parasites.
  • Look into the disappearances mentioned in the news article in the area of Canto Bight.
  • Try to determine if there are any commonalities between those reported missing.
  • Attempt to investigate the reports of strange looking women living in the areas that these disappeances have taken place.

  • We entered through the gates of what seemed to be an old village
  • We started questioning the locals with the help of Andre, our fellow translator a.k.a Anya's droid, for knowledge of history, culture, whatever wasn't already recorded
  • We went through multiple houses, at least a dozen of the inhabitants saw us

  • It seemed that the only people willing to talk to us, or welcoming enough to do so, were indoors and with their families at their side. They all talked about the same thing differently yet all their stories had similarities. It was always old tales of past members of their own families, most of whom had passed away by now. When we began to question them further, they backed down, avoided and even refused to continue on. All of them were scared and it was clear they have withheld information from us, kept some things secret. The stories were about disappearances at night from where tall creatures roamed, when a red moon would shine from the sky. It would also be about an old man finding a "city of lights", theoritically a casino, where he would have made profit but his wife that accompanied him would disappear from the crowd increase after rushing in to keep talking to "the strange women". Finally, there would also be stories of how this "city of lights" was an estate deemed abandoned and wicked In Cantonica where children would often play in. Nonetheless, a foreigner made it their home. The shaman telling us that story also made it clear the disappearances would happen near that place, and that if someone was known to leave and come out in the open, "it" would try to "eat something out of them". A lot is in quotes, those are the parts that confuses me, I believe it may be because of what has been lost in the translation.

  • As we left the final house, still full of questions, we saw a man standing in the snow collapse on the floor and having a seizure. A few moments later, Master Anya came to the rescue and the man was brought to the hospital. Sadly the man passed away right as he hit the snow and the autopsy revealed the reason for his death: a tapeworm of some kind, which made me realize the correlation between the story of "it" trying to "eat something out of them". It clearly suggests that this is no rare occurence, but nobody would tell us anything, and we had to leave for medical examination. When checked on, me, Vuren and Master Anya happened to have caught some kind of flu, yet Rutrik didn't. It struck us that Rutrik did not drink anything offered to us, all of the tea, which made us draw on the conclusion that the sickness came from it.

In my opinion... Nobody is safe in that village, an infestation could happen very easily considering the amount of secrecy the locals like to keep, or rather they are driven by fear of what could happen if they didn't, but are clearly desperate for help if they still are willing to discuss the danger. Judging from what we have been told, and after reading the news, I can only assume Cantonica's and the villagers' stories are both connected. Both do talk about Cantonica and casinos and both have strange happenings to them.

My recommendations are as follows...
  • Investigate further on the village's current state and its inhabitants, the comings and goings from the hospital for more autopsies revealing tapeworms
  • Investigate Cantonica's casinos and question the authorities about the disappearances though they may not be willing to, then find those who would be
  • Secure the village's supply lines for what could be infested food or/and drinks
"Jedi stuff."
