Head control

Post by Trin Oniron »

I wonder if it could be possible to control the head movements of a character by altering the game.
I think it could be a great feature to enhance realism in game and avoid moving the whole body just to look at someone or change the camera direction.

In my mind it would work like in the game Arma : You press a button and the mouse control the head and the camera simultaneously and when you release it the mouse take back the control over the whole body.
You can, of course, still move with the keyboard while moving the head.

What do you think of it ?

I absolutely agree. If this can be implemented I think it'd be a great addition to roleplay immersion. Especially when my character shakes his head at sassy students.

And me death staring. :D

I'm surprised it hasn't been brought up before, it annoys me too. It would be very nice to have.

Make your head do a full 360 turn like in the Exorcist? Sounds like something worth having, may even serve to provide a few moments of unexpected/unintended entertainment.

I reckon this could be done by editing the RPMOD-Animations emotes so they are simple emotes, remove some un-used /em commands to free room.

I was rather thinking of a mouse controlled head with limit values for realistic purpose of course.

I think that would mean a lot of work for Soh since you're effectively asking for him to change the games controls, if such a thing is even possible without breaking something, some minor control over the head is possible by simply turning your character a little to the left or right, at which point the head automatically turns to look at the nearest character.

I personally preferred the minor control and the use of /me to relay who I'm looking at as it got the job done easy enough.
