Possibility to change to melee mode when disarmed

Post by Grokh'torr »

When the opponent hits your lightsaber out of your hand, disarms you, you should be able to change to melee mode and utilize punches, kicks, grapples until you are able to pick up your hilt.

Honestly it's not that hard to switch weapons when disarmed so it's technically already possible :)
Just 'recall' your hilt in order to swap and RP it out as being unarmed till you get your lightsaber back, /me during fights is something to be encouraged in my opinion so long as it's not for the sake of using the health regen by stalling.

Recalling the hilt will delete its laying position. It will not be visible on the floor anymore. The tactical advantage of guarding the laying position of your enemy's hilt will be much harder to properly apply and use, even more so in spars that include more than two people, as these can be even more hectic and chaotic than one-on-one spars.
Besides, the laying position will always be clearly visible and stay the same if the hilt lies physically on the floor, while the laying position of a recalled hilt will be difficult to properly mark during a spar.

And chat boxes that pop up during a spar are the most annoying and immersion-breaking thing ever.

This idea just makes sense. Better combat for hand to hand would be good but that's a whole other garden to hoe.
