How to suppress pain

I have been struggling with soreness in my teeth and gums after losing a couple of teeth and the new ones growing in. I've been using a bacta gel for the pain but was told by one of the other students it might be a good time to request a class in pain suppression.

Padawan Darkrider,

I understand that occasions like those can be annoying and even frustrating. But there are some things that are part of life; Natural. Your body is bestowing a 'trial' to you that you need to endure. Allow the course of nature to do its thing.

With that said, the Force is not to be treated lightly, or be used as a painkiller for such simple reasons. Seeking Its aid for such reasons will make it a habit, and abuse before you realize it.

And as a final note, I believe it is too early in your training for such an internal technique, as it cannot be isolated but affects your entire neural transition. I would gladly take upon this request later on when you are more experienced. For now, my advice is to bear with the natural course of things. The medicine should be enough to make it tolerable. Only then you'll understand its importance, in the future.

I think I understand. I will try to be strong and push through the pain. The medicine is helping, it just hurts Master.

When I first arrived at the temple, I was given some mental exercises to help with some emotional trouble I was having, I thought I could use a similar technique to try and manage this kind of physical pain. I’ll continue to meditate on it.

Cases such as this are one of the best methods to push your meditation further. Emptying your mind with an additional challenge like this will help you improve.

My meditation has improved a lot over the last couple of years Master, I feel I might be better prepared to tackle this kind of ‘trial’.

Do you think it might be wise to instead request to be instructed in a higher level of meditation?
