Greetings All,

On 362.25 ABY, the following updates were made to JEDI's rules:
  • New section Resignation and Reapplication was added to the Code and Conduct thread. This adjustment was made to clarify returning to JEDI after a resignation, rather than after an LOI.

Greetings All,

On 362.26 ABY, the following updates were made to JEDI's rules:
  • The Joining JEDI thread was revised, the Consult a Mentor section was updated and reformatted, and 'Permanent cybernetic enhancements' was added to the list of banned species for applications. Whilst not a specific species in itself, this addition was made to ensure that all joining members have an even playing field for progression and ability, as well as avoiding cliché plots.

Greetings All,

On 363.26 ABY, the following updates were made to JEDI's rules:
  • A rule has been created in regards to returning members. Members who have been gone for two years or longer are now required to re-roll as an initiate or hopeful, regardless of what rank they obtained before their leaving. This serves as a way for the returning members to relearn and reintroduce themselves to JEDI and Star Wars role-play. This can be found in the Resignation and Reapplication section of Code of Conduct.
  • The section Character model and skin was added to the Character Creation Guide. This section clarifies the importance of choosing a suitable model and skin, resources for hopefuls and a restriction on anime/cartoon inspired models/skins.
Feedback on these changes is welcomed, as such large bodies of text can be susceptible to many overlooked errors.

~ Rules & Tips Update ~

Greetings All,

On 425.17 ABY, the following updates were made to JEDI's rules:
Greetings, JEDI,

Following on from our recent changes made to the Adept rank, we wanted to codify a new policy for those returning to JEDI after being away for some time. At present, our rules state:
After 6 months of absence has elapsed, returning players will be required to reroll as a new character. Players will have the choice of rerolling as a hopeful or as an established member of the Order, up to and including the rank of the previous character. Exceptions to this rule are, Councilors and High Councilors, who are not permitted to reapply as these ranks or roles. They however can re-roll into these ranks and roles if still present within the community and currently have a character that holds that specific position. All reapplications from resigned members should be sent to the Jedi Council account.
This will now be changed to:
After 6 months of absence had elapsed, returning players will be asked to re-roll as a new character. Players will have the choice of re-rolling as a Hopeful, or as an established member of the Order transferring into the Rannon branch. The rank of your new character will be dependent on the rank your last character held at the time of your departure:
  • Students at Initiate or Padawan rank may re-roll as a new Initiate, or as a Masterless Padawan
  • Knights will be asked to re-roll at Adept rank for a short probationary period, after which they may resume their former rank. Members that have been gone between six months to a year will have a one-month probation, whereas members gone for longer will be asked to complete the standard three-month probation.
This is designed to allow returning members to settle into being back with JEDI and adjust to the demands of RP without being further burdened by the more-demanding responsibilities of Knighthood.
This rule change and the use of the Adept rank is not intended as a negative reflection on the returning player - indeed, we want the community to recognise that the Adept rank exists largely to allow for returning characters to re-adjust, and for existing Knights demoted to that rank to make changes that correct any negative behaviour, so that all recognise that we have complete confidence in those who hold the deserved rank of "Jedi Knight".

As always, we welcome any questions or concerns you may have.

Regards,

- The Jedi Council

~ Rules & Tips Update ~

Greetings All,

On 461.03 ABY, the following updates were made to JEDI's code of conduct:

II. Harassment

Harassment—whether subtle or overt—disrupts the harmony of our community. During all in-character (IC) and out of character (OOC) interactions, JEDI expects members to uphold the values of empathy, consent, and personal space.

The following is considered unacceptable:
  • Overbearing behaviour: Repeatedly messaging or tagging someone who isn’t engaging back.
  • Boundary-pushing: Ignoring social cues, tone, or direct requests to disengage.
  • One-sided engagement: Not recognising when someone is uncomfortable, disinterested, or trying to limit contact/responses.
  • Friendship pressure: Trying to force closeness or emotional intimacy OOC when it’s not mutual.
If another member is not responding warmly or is pulling back, then their boundaries must be respected without exception.

Sexual Harassment
Romantic or flirtatious behaviour—whether in-character or out-of-character—requires clear, mutual consent. Violations include:
  • Unsolicited romantic roleplay (RP): Initiating romantic or intimate storylines without OOC agreement from the other player.
  • Flirtatious or suggestive messages: Sending direct messages or comments that are sexual, romantic, or overly personal without invite or reciprocation.
  • Inappropriate remarks: Commenting on someone’s appearance, voice, or personality in a way that feels suggestive or invasive.
  • Oversharing: Sharing intimate personal details or asking invasive questions that make another player feel uncomfortable.
  • Uninvited Advances: Continuing flirtation or romantic overtures after being ignored, rejected, or asked to stop.
RP must be collaborative and consensual, and OOC friendship must be reciprocated. If any player is unsure of boundaries—the expectation is they ask. If the other play says no, does not respond in the affirmative or does not respond at all—drop it.

JEDI takes the safety of its members seriously, and has a zero-tolerance policy for any form of harassment. If there is evidence of repeated harassment, or a single-instance that meets the above threshold for sexual harassment, then offending members may face permanent removal from the community.
Feedback on these changes is welcomed, as such large bodies of text can be susceptible to many overlooked errors.

Greetings All,

On 461.11 ABY, the following updates were made to JEDI's code of conduct:

Updated II. Consult a Mentor section in Joining JEDI

II. Consult a Mentor

As JEDI continues to evolve its independent lore, we understand that writing a biography consistent with the community’s setting can be a challenge for new applicants.

If required, you can request the assistance of a mentor by:
  • Joining our official Discord server and following the guidelines listed upon entry.
  • Navigating to the #consult-a-mentor text channel.
  • Using the channel to request assistance or ask questions regarding your biography and the application process.
For expectations around Discord etiquette and usage, please refer to the Discord Protocol section of JEDI's Code of Conduct.

The invite link to JEDI's official Discord is available below:

[Discord Invite Link]

Mentors who respond in the designated Discord channel may offer their characters as a narrative device in your biography, helping to explain how your character came to the Duneeden Temple. However, this is completely optional, and permission must be obtained before including any member of JEDI in your biography.

While mentors can provide valuable guidance, they do not exercise creative control over your biography. Their role is to help identify major lore inconsistencies and offer support in a mutually agreeable manner.

Once your biography is finalized following any mentorship conversations, you may submit your application to the Council as outlined in the introductory section.
New section Discord Protocol to be added to JEDI's Code of Conduct

~ Discord Protocol ~

The official JEDI Discord server is a vital extension of the JEDI community—facilitating administration, event coordination, IC interaction and OOC socialisation.

Upon entering the discord server, the expectation is that the rules listed below are agreed to:
  • Respect & Kindness: Treat every member with courtesy. Respect others' boundaries, opinions, and well-being.
  • No Hate Speech, Harassment or Sexual Harassment: Any form of abuse, discrimination, or targeted hostility is strictly prohibited.
  • No Political or Religious Discourse: Discussions involving political opinions or personal beliefs are not appropriate.
  • PG-13 Content Policy: NSFW content—including avatars, memes, or comments—is not permitted.
  • No Spamming or Excessive Tagging: Refrain from flooding channels or overusing mentions.
  • No Threats: Any threatening behaviour—whether serious or in jest—will be taken seriously.
  • Channel Etiquette: Use the appropriate channels for your needs. Misplaced messages may be moved or deleted.
  • Avoid Unnecessary Messaging: Try to consolidate your thoughts into one message. Editing is available if revisions are needed.
Please note, the general rules contained within the Code of Conduct also apply.

New members of the Discord will be welcomed into the guest-dorms channel, where the rules will be reiterated again.

Anyone joining the discord will need to leave a message in the welcome channel with their character’s name, which will be updated as their server nickname. Once this is done, the council will extend access to the guest-specific channels available to all hopeful/applicants.

The invite link to JEDI's official discord is available below:

Greetings All,

On 461.16 ABY, the following updates were made to JEDI's code of conduct:

Added section under Restrictions in Student Guidelines:

VI. Prestige Administrative Access

Administrative access is a reserved for JEDI's mentor body, who have demonstrated long‑term commitment, trustworthiness, and a high standard of role‑play during their journey to knighthood.

Student characters are not granted any form of administrative access by default, ensuring their focus remains on the progression of their training rather than on content creation responsibilities.

However, former members who have previously achieved the rank of Jedi Knight on an earlier character may apply to have their administrative privileges reinstated under the Prestige Administrative Access program.

Applications must be submitted to The Jedi Council for review and approval before any access is restored.

Student members granted prestige administrative access may engage in light content creation in support of the community, provided that these activities do not impede their character’s development or their path toward Knighthood.

All expectations and limitations regarding the appropriate use of administrative privileges, as outlined in the Mentor Guidelines, still apply to those operating under this program.
Feedback on these changes is welcomed, as such large bodies of text can be susceptible to many overlooked errors.

Greetings All,

On 461.16 ABY, the following updates were made to JEDI's code of conduct:

Updated IV. Jedi Shadows section in Student Guidelines:

IV. Jedi Shadows

A Jedi Shadow specialises in hunting down and destroying Dark Side threats. They are considered rare within the Jedi Order, and consequently, must be role-played with care.

It should be noted that any member of JEDI hoping to role-play this profession will face tremendous in-character risk.

Students or above who would like to apply to become a Jedi Shadow must follow the below steps:
  • Provide an application to the Jedi Council explaining why they would like to become a Jedi Shadow, as well as how their character would fit the position. The application needs to be approved by the Council before any other training can begin.
  • Direct training must occur with another confirmed Jedi Shadow who is at least Jedi Knight rank or above.
  • Training can also be completed through detailed role-play studies if no Shadow is present in the branch, or through role-play with an NPC Shadow from another branch. However, this must be overseen by one of JEDI's administrators with consent of the council.
  • Continued in-character follow up with the Jedi Council.
Added new section called Content Creation, including I. Dark Side Storylines & II. Master Shadow, in Mentor Guidelines

~ Content Creation ~

Content creators within the community are encouraged to be as creative as possible with the lessons, missions or arcs they produce.

However, to ensure acceptable levels of quality and continuity are maintained, certain guidelines must be followed when generating particular kinds of content. The guidelines may vary depending on the subject or outcome of a planned story line, with any arcs having broad impact on the galaxy or other member's content requiring council review.

If a content creator is unsure of what is or isn't within the scope of acceptable story telling, then it is suggested they speak with a member of the Jedi Council.

I. Dark Side Storylines

Content creators are allowed to introduce elements of Dark Side force-use into their story telling. This can include Dark Side force-users, artefacts, histories and techniques.

However, the following conditions apply:
  • All use of Sith lore, teachings or characters must be approved by the Jedi Council.
  • Any Dark Side threats that pose a high risk to the Jedi Order must be approved by the Jedi Council.
  • It is encouraged that the branch's Jedi Shadows are included in any storylines that contain recurring Dark Side characters or items. However, this is not required for minor Dark Side threats or instances where Dark Side elements are non-recurring or not significant to overall arc.

II. Master Shadow

Unlike the other Heads of Department, the Master Shadow is a solely in-character title, with no official out of character permissions or administrative responsibilities. However, it is encouraged that whomever plays the Master Shadow is consulted in-character on matters pertaining to the Dark Side.

Due to the in-character significance of the role, the Master Shadow will need to be an active participant in the role-play. If the occupant does not regularly appear on-server, the role may need to be vacated and re-opened for application.

All members of JEDI who play an approved Jedi Shadow can express their interest with an out of character application to The Jedi Council account. Those applying can feel free to include any relevant information they would like the council to consider in their application.

The Master Shadow is often shrouded in secrecy, meaning all applications and subsequent announcements pertaining to the position will be handled out of character.
Feedback on these changes is welcomed, as such large bodies of text can be susceptible to many overlooked errors.

Greetings All,

On 461.19 ABY, the following updates were made to JEDI's code of conduct:

Amendments made to IV. Jedi Shadows in Student Guidelines

Students or above who would like to apply for training as Jedi Shadow must follow the below steps:
  • Provide an out of character application to the Jedi Council explaining why they would like to work towards becoming a Jedi Shadow, as well as how their character would fit the position. The application needs to be approved by the Council before any other training can begin.
  • Direct training must occur with a confirmed Jedi Shadow who is at least Jedi Knight rank or above.
  • Training can also be completed through detailed role-play studies if no Shadow is present in the branch, or through role-play with an NPC Shadow from another branch. However, this must be overseen by one of JEDI's administrators with consent of the council.
  • Continued in-character follow up with the Jedi Council.
If an application is approved, members may begin training as a Jedi Shadow. However, a character can only be deemed a fully-fledged Jedi Shadow once they reach Knighthood.

For student members, the Council reserves the right to revoke approval for training at any time before Knighthood if concerns arise about how the role-play is being conducted.
New section added to Student Guidelines

V. Jedi Seers

A Jedi Seer cam experience visions through the Force and trains to interpret those visions with temperance

While Seers are respected within the Jedi Order, the sensitive nature of their abilities demands careful role-play. It should be noted that any member of JEDI wishing to role‑play this profession must handle visions responsibly to avoid metagaming or influencing events with out‑of‑character knowledge.

Students or above who would like to apply for training as a Jedi Seer must follow the steps below:
  • Provide an out of character application to the Jedi Council explaining why they would like to work towards becoming a Jedi Seer, as well as how their character would fit the position. The application needs to be approved by the Council before any other training can begin.
  • Direct training must occur with a confirmed Jedi Seer who is at least Jedi Knight rank or above.
  • Training can also be completed through detailed role‑play studies if no Seer is present in the branch, or through role‑play with an NPC Seer from another branch. However, this must be overseen by one of JEDI’s administrators with the consent of the Council.
  • Continued in‑character follow‑up with the Jedi Council.
If an application is approved, members may begin training as a Jedi Seer. However, a character can only be deemed a fully‑fledged Jedi Seer once they reach Knighthood.

For student members, the Council reserves the right to revoke approval for training at any time before Knighthood if concerns arise about how visions or related role‑play are being handled.

Greetings All,

On 461.21 ABY, the following updates were made to JEDI's code of conduct:

Added new section in Ranks & Responsibilities:

I. The Initiate Trials

Initiates are expected to gain a foundation of knowledge before advancing to the rank of Padawan, ensuring fair pacing of progression while upholding the traditions of the Jedi Order.

The Initiate curriculum focuses on the core fundamentals of Jedi learning. After completing all, or a majority, of the curriculum, Initiates must successfully complete the Initiate trials before becoming eligible for apprenticeship.

Knights and Masters may show interest in an Initiate prior to advancement, but an apprenticeship cannot formally begin until the trials are passed. Potential mentors are encouraged to guide Initiates through this process to ensure readiness for selection as a Padawan.

The curriculum is detailed below:
  • Jedi Ethics
    • The Jedi Code (Precepts)
    • The Three Pillars of the Jedi
  • Lightsaber Combat & Theory
    • Form Zero
    • Form I: Shii-Cho (Shii-Cho Exam Required). The Shii-Cho Exam should be conducted by the Battlemaster, but if they are not available, it can be conducted by any member of the temple staff.
    • Blaster Deflection
    • Lightsaber Crystals
  • Force Mastery & Theory
    • Empty Meditation
    • The Living and Cosmic Force
    • Three or more core Force abilities(Jump, Speed, Sense, Push, or Pull)
Once an Initiate has learned a majority if not all of the acquired materials, a Jedi Knight or Master may request that a student undergo the Initiate trials.

The Initiate trials will be designed and conducted by the Jedi Council or an approved Jedi Knight or Master to test Initiates knowledge of the Jedi Code, Lightsaber Combat and the Force. It is preferred that this process is conducted with more than one Initiate at a time.

If the Initiate passes the trials:
  • They achieve the rank of Padawan.
  • They are capable of being picked up by a Jedi Knight or Master and becoming a Padawan Learner.
  • They are given a full powered lightsaber and any base lightsaber color except red. RGB is reserved for the lightsaber built later in Padawanhood.
  • They will be able to pursue higher levels of learning.
If the Initiate does not pass the trials:
  • They remain a Jedi Initiate.
  • They will be asked to relearn certain topics or expand their knowledge of the basics.
  • They can request to take the trials again after two weeks.
Feedback on these changes is welcomed, as such large bodies of text can be susceptible to many overlooked errors.

For any questions or concerns about the updated material or future updates, please contact The Jedi Council account through private message.
