Protection & Absorption Lvl 5 + Battle Meditation

Protect
Modifications suggested for level 5

Idea 1
Protect must be activated.
·When pressing and holding down the "use"-key, the player will go into a turtle-like stance (the according animation could be the one of Healing level 1, or /emkneel).
·While being in the turtle-stance, the player will have 100% protect against all physical damages.
·The player will "collect" all damage done to him while holding down the "use"-key.
·When the "use"-key is released, all damage collected will be reflected back towards the surrounding or one chosen target.
·When reflected to the surrounding, all targets within range take equal damage.
·When reflected to one chosen target, the target takes damage equivalent to the damage the player has taken.


Idea 2
Protect must be activated.
·When pressing the "use"-key, the player will build up a shield in bubble form around himself.
·The shield is large enough to cover other players within it, protecting them.
·The shield will look similar to the /rpprotect bubble or the bubble players have when respawning, just at a larger size.
·The shield will not be penetrate able by shots and other weaponry (thrown detonators, saber swings) from the outside, but players from inside the shield will be able to shoot/throw/swing out.
·When a player attempts to step into the shield from the outside, he will suffer a penalty on HP/shields/FP (protection against a possible exploit of "quickly running into the shield and then delivering damage to protected players").
·When a player from inside the shield damages another player from inside the shield, the protection will not work and damage will be delivered.

Absorb
Modification suggested for level 5

Idea
Absorb must be activated.
·When pressing and holding down the "use"-key, the player will "collect" the type of Force Attack done to him.
·When releasing the "use"-key, the player will reflect the Force Attack back to the attacker.
·The longer the "use"-button is held down, the more energy will be collected and reflected eventually.
·The reflected attack is the same as the collected attack (lightning attacks will be reflected as lightning attacks, drain attacks will be reflected as drain attacks, and so on).
·This Power would be of fashion like Count Dooku deflecting Yoda's absorbed and thrown back lightning in Episode 2.

Battle Meditation
No particular level

Idea
·When activating Battle Meditation, the player goes into a meditative stance (/meditate, for example), and is not able to move.
·The player will however be able to "move" around his model in shape of an invisible camera (similar of "flying around" as a spectator) while his model is rendered immovable.
·When flying around, the player will be able to "mark" targets by placing the crosshair on them and pressing the "attack"-key.
·Marked targets will receive a bonus to damage, damage reduction, speed, HP/FP regeneration, and so on.
·The player may return back into their model by turning off Battle Meditation, the effect on other marked players will fade then however.
·While using Battle Meditation, the model of the player will be extremely vulnerable to damage.
·When the player dies (as in, the model gets attacked until 0 HP), the Battle Meditation will be cancelled instantly.
·FP is burned while Battle Meditation is active. Marking players also costs additional FP.


Lower levels of this Power:
Player can only move away from his model in short distance.
Player can only mark so many targets.
Marked targets will gain low boosts.
Damage vulnerability of player's model is extremely high.
High FP burn when Power is active.
High FP cost for marking players.

Higher levels of this Power:
Player can move away at great distances.
Player can mark many targets (or mark them simultaneously).
Marked targets will gain extreme boosts.
Damage vulnerability of player's model is moderate.
Moderate/low FP burn when Power is active.
Moderate/low FP cost for marking players

The battle meditation moving around sounds good. There might a possiblity.. although IDK how Soh will get it in. Remeber in JK2 when Kyle was still using kiddie guns in the Imp base? Remeber when one of the rooms was filed with gas and locked. You had to get a droid into the room and unlock it. Maybe use something similar to the droid controls for that power. Like make it look simliar to that (without the droid).

I'm not for adding Battle Meditation as a power, because 1) Canonically, its a VERY rare skill, 2) Because of its rarity realistically not many people SHOULD have it, but it very well could end up like Storm, where somehow everyone dabbles in it, and thusly could simply be role played, rather than labored into mechanics.

As for the other ideas, they sound pretty solid.

I think for protect it should literally be "Protect" not "Take in the damage and eventually send it back out". I think for Protect 5 it should generate as you said into a bubble of some description to protect allies and only that, that'd make sense.

Absorb... I suppose there's nothing wrong with collecting and sending back the effects as they came, that actually makes more sense than with protect and I would like to see that.

I agree with Alkur on battle meditation.

Good suggestions.

Very interesting ideas. Nice work, Lynee, although I have to agree with Alkur that it's probably not an ability many people would have access to. That said, no reason why it couldn't be added (potentially) and just require a massive number of Force Points put into it (hence ensuring that only the upper-level Masters have access to it.
