261.14 // Structural Change (Amended 269.16)
Greetings, JEDI and Community members.
Please read the following Instance carefully as it brings a structural change to JEDI.
Conversely, we also had the most ineffective Voice Council in a long time. Being chosen by the High Council, the Voice Council was never meant to represent the members - it was first a communication channel. However, a number of members felt their concerns were ignored or brushed off by the VC, sometimes describing it as a "HC-junior". This lack of confidence has, over time, broken the communication from members to the Council. Therefore, we are announcing the introduction of a restructured Council, and an additional new section of JEDI.

Please read the following Instance carefully as it brings a structural change to JEDI.
~ A bit of Analysis ~
Up to 261.14, the JEDI Council was made of the High Council and the Voice Council. Their roles had been defined as follows:- High Council: the ultimate decision body of the Council, leading the clan.
- Voice Council: the communication body of the Council to which members can report their needs, problems, suggestions, etc. Its general purpose is to enhance the communication between members and the Council, as well as being the eyes and the ears of the Council.

~ New Structure ~
The Council will from now on be composed of the following bodies:- High Council: the ultimate decision body of the Council, leading the clan (no change).
- Council Advisors: made of the current Voice Councilors, advisors are the eyes and ears of the High Council, serve as advice aides and participate in the day-to-day communication, decision-making and functioning of the Council.
- There will be 3 representatives: 2 for Mentors (1 Knight + 1 Master, 2 Knights or 2 Masters), and one for Students (1 Padawan).
- The only duties these representatives will be charged with is bringing information about the people's wishes on current matters when the Council asks them to, and to bring suggestions and concerns that the people may have to the Council in a timely manner.
- The Council will be electing the first set of representatives, but their fate will be left in the hands of the people thereafter.
- The representatives will serve two month “termsâ€. At the end of each term, each rank has the opportunity to vote to change their representative, should they feel that they are not being represented fairly or efficiently.
- A dedicated forum section will be made available for Representatives to contact the Council.
- The representatives will use the green color for the third column of their tags, i.e. :::JEDI:::
