Breathing Underwater?
I was wondering if it would be at all possible if some people could be given the ability to breathe underwater because certain species such as Mon Calamari, Nautolan etc. (Excuse my spelling) can breath underwater.
Just a thought.
Just a thought.

There was something along these lines talked about not that long ago. A species trait list, ability list. I'll have a look for the thread shortly.

I actually think they can, younger ones sometimes have trouble with it, is my understanding.Aldor Arkanous wrote:Mon calamari cant breathe underwater
Anyways, I think that's a excellent idea, good thinking Aduro.

Just to put an end to the debate, yes, MonCals can drown according to easily located sources.
[Note: The "Organic Gill" is a symbiotic device created to enable breathing underwater, which the MonCals apparently invented.]
EDIT:
It also looks like the main idea here was being handled as part of the discussion for a system for Species specific traits, in the following thread:

[Source: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Mon_Calamari]They could also descend to depths of up to 30 meters below sea level without breathing, though they found it uncomfortable and often used organic gills. Mon Calamari could stay underwater for a long period of time, although a frightened Mon Calamari, particularly a juvenile, could drown underwater. They also did not need to decompress when resurfacing.

That could be great for the aquatics species. Can we just get water damage turned off, at least? Please? And then use the honor system so that the nonaquatic species can't hold their breath as long or something? Pretty please?..... Arikakon
