Jumping
Tonight Delmi and I went on some weird Duel server it was pretty trippy lol.
Anyway, the mod they used gave us an idea about jump after Level 3.
When you stick to the wall on their server and hold it, it shoots you up a little, like double jumping. I thought it would be sweet if we could add something like this to RPMOD. But instead of it being automatic, you would have to hold down the 'shift' key or something. It would also be cool that after a certain level you could keep jumping until you run out of FP. Also, if it can be done, jumping in the direction that you are looking, like instead of just going straight up, you could also distance jump horizontally away from the wall.
I think they also added things like dexterity and Strength. Strength made your hits do more damage and dexterity allowed for faster running and jumping...I think. ANYWAY! That's it.

Support this 10000000000000000000%. It's a neat idea and I'm sort of surprised it hasn't been put in use before.

It's force jump, not force jetpack.Atrux Nuro wrote:It would also be cool that after a certain level you could keep jumping until you run out of FP.
Otherwise, I like the wall grab idea.

Re: Jumping
Star wars Battlefront II has a multiple jumping system that allows you to keep jumping higher everything you hit the jump button, this last's till you run out of Stamina/Force then you drop to the ground with no damage for some reason.Sared Kilvan wrote:It's force jump, not force jetpack.Atrux Nuro wrote:It would also be cool that after a certain level you could keep jumping until you run out of FP.

I support the idea as it's basically like Jumping and using force push to go that extra height.

I'm really not sure about this one, if i'm following you correctly. I don't like the idea of multiple random jet-pack jumping, as Sared put it.
That said, as for the wall grip side, I 100% agree. Made a post about it months ago. Being able to continue wall 'grabs' with a pause in between jumping. As it is right now, you need to be extremely quick at button bashing to do multiple wall jumps.
I made this suggestion months ago.

That's already done, really. All you have to do is be close to the wall to do it.Kael Sekura wrote:I'm really not sure about this one, if i'm following you correctly. I don't like the idea of multiple random jet-pack jumping, as Sared put it.

I think what Atrux is saying is once you grab the wall, hold it, and then let you you jump even higher. This is done in MB2. If I remember, I'll get a video of it ASAP.

It hasn't been done Mal. It's still the same. You grip the wall, if you hold for over a second, then let go, you cannot re-grip the wall again until the falling animation stops. In base, you can instantly re-grab the wall until FP depletion kicks in of course.Maloush wrote:That's already done, really. All you have to do is be close to the wall to do it.

As for the MB2 jump thing, I got it. I'm just not sure I like it. I'll hold of judgement however until I see footage of it, as you suggested ^

force jetpack? Really?
While I think the skill of jumping till fp is depleted shouldn't be a *public* thing, there is no reason why it oculdn't be jump 5 :/
Let's take a look at it from a Jedi's Logic.
If I can trust in the force I can do anything. No distance is to high, no object too big, no wound too great.
Are we to deny this ooc because this resembles a "jetpack?" Which btw it doesn't, Jetpack allows you to fly around, this would just allow you to jump as high as possible, not hover in midair (maybe if you hit the ceiling). A fully trained Jedi Knight who has trained enough and is powerful enough should be able to propel himself to his limit, no?
Force Jetpack...lol. That's be cool actually. Maybe limit the height of it, and change the animation to a sit or standing stance, it'd be perfect for levitating, which is logically possible with the Force.

And that's all I gotta say about that....

The problem with that being that Guardians, the best users of jump, have the lowest force pool of all classes. At jump 5, a Guardian will get less than half as much jump as a Consular (even if it takes the Consular many more levels to get it) which is inconsistent in the perception between the different classes.
If you never want to spar, just get Storm 4-5, keeps all the crazies away.

Perhaps there can be a modifcation to the usage of fp for jump 5 for guardians? So it goes down at an equal rate as if it was more or something?Tomoran wrote:The problem with that being that Guardians, the best users of jump, have the lowest force pool of all classes.
