Connected to the server, played around with my camera script. Closed the game to make some textures adjustments, reconnected, and I'm getting a 'is cheat protected' using any cg_thirdperson commands.

So, funny story...

I didn't launch to our servers the way I usually do, and had just loaded up JAMP with RPMod, so I connected manually via /connect temple.jediholo.net which instead connected me to some random JA+ server. I deleted the japlus folder that it automatically created and that fixed the issue.

Moral of this story? JA+ sucks.

It's not a bug, it's like that for all JA+ servers as it's part of the JA+ mod so don't worry about it, so long as you can still use the cg_thirdperson commands on the JEDI servers there is no need to worry mate.

Probably implemented with the mentality that adjusting your view/camera angle or distance is an unfair advantage in duels.

Also, Slider's primary userbase is a pack of rabid, leperous, flesh-eating pre-pubescent shaved weasels, so a bit of over-controlling moderation on his mod's part is understandable.

At the same time though, I'd like to understand why I was connected to a random public server when trying to connect to Temple.

This is because you didn't specify the server port. The game connected to the default port 29070, while our Temple is running on port 29071 (the IP address being shared by several JKA servers operated by MammothGames).

That's it? Damn. I was perfectly content to blame JA+. :(

That is where you're wrong, mate.
It is not like that for all JA+ servers, only the ones that make it so.
Most JA+ servers allow it, actually.
You can technically have it blocked in RPMod if Soh did so in the server.cfg, so its not because its JA+.. lol.

Glad you figured out the quirk you were having though, Sared.
