A While back there were a few arguments about what sort of music could and couldn't be relevant to your character.

I personally think that considering the importance Music has in the real world, Music is one of the most cruelly underused devices in the Star Wars Universe.

How come?

There are only about 5 pieces of diagetic (as in, what the characters themselves can hear) music in all of the films. The rest is fairly Romantic/Twentieth Century, non-diagetic film scoring.

The Music article on Wookieepedia demonstrates this pretty aptly http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Music

However, if one considers that 'Jizz' is basically Jazz, and that was already an old genre 265 years before our current era, there's no reason to believe that genres like Heavy Metal, Rock, Dance, Techno, Ambient and Trance music wouldn't exist.

Indeed, electronic music was highly popular in the KOTOR era. And nearly every single one of those genres I mentioned just now is alluded to with a different name - e.g. Heavy Isotope instead of Heavy Metal.

So basically, as far as I'm concerned, there's a huge scope of possible genres, they just have to make sense in the context of the canonical ones.

That aside, your characters 'Theme' or Lietmotif as a cinematic device would usually be instrumental and in the John Williams (or other 'classical') style, because frankly, a 'Theme' or Lietmotif is a classical/dramatic device. It would exist for the benefit of the viewers and your character wouldn't hear it.

If on the other hand you're proposing Music your character might enjoy, In Universe, keep in mind what Knight Feraan said, and that's all of the overtly emotive/melodramatic teen angst is being beaten out of you from year nought because you're training to be a Jedi...

I'd say this goes pretty good with Kono's attitude and personality.

I like the dramatic changes in the song, explains Saos quite well.

I think this song is the one for Saos.

Meh, doesn't happen to me too often to be fascinated both by music & lyrics at the same time within some song. I think this one is very fitting of my character. ;)
Closer

The things closest you you
You need to most aware of
If you get too close to something
You'll lose sight of it

What in the world is the happiness
That you gained from your newest experience?
Maybe you're just too happy
To remember!

That you're here
That you're breathing
Realize that that's
just a miracle in itself

The things closest you you
You need to most aware of
If you get too close to something
You'll lose sight of it

You know the closer you get to something
The harder it is to see it
And I'll never take it for granted

Let's go

Though there are people that say
Helping someone is hypocritical
Each person
Can be trusted, or can be doubted, so...

Let's say that
Even if you are hypocritical
If you saved someone because of it
That would be real, more than anything

"Continue chasing after your dreams"
And "Go on without giving up"
The more you say pretty things like that
The less that actually gets done

I'll keep a handful of courage in my heart
To use to live through tomorrow
And I'll never take it for granted

Let's go

The things closest you you
You need to most aware of
If you get too close to something
You'll lose sight of it

You know the closer you get to something
The harder it is to see it
And I'll never take it for granted

"Continue chasing after your dreams"
And "Go on without giving up"
The more you say pretty things like that
The less that actually gets done

I'll keep a handful of courage in my heart
To use to live through tomorrow
And I'll never take it for granted

Let's go

by Sebastin Creed
Can't remember if I posted or not but I thought a little bit on it! I found more non lyricals or all types that fit Sebastin, though I found one song with lyrics so have a little browse perhaps you might enjoy the tunes!

Lyrical Choice:

You Might Die Trying - Dave Matthews Band - Just some of these lyrics got to me the first part of the song anyways, the music itself is just fantastic and gave me goosebumps. Not too much, just perfect as always Mr Matthews. Might take a leaf out of Jared's book and come up with a fictional represenation of this band!

Non Lyrical Choices:

If These Trees Could Talk - Malabar Front - I like to think when Sebastin tries to focus with his natural senses things for him slows down around him. This song gave me an image of Sebastin in one of his first 'crisis moments' and he tries to gain a grip and things slow down, then he takes action. Results are unknown at this time heh. (I also heard it on the InFamous trailer as well, my interest just grew from there. This is the FULL song though.)

If These Trees Could Talk - Thirty Six Silos - Another one for a Sebastin moment, it's one of my favourite tunes by ITTCT while I was writing my Bio, which again I will have to re-write as the grammer is just... awful but I think I was a little bit too fixed on getting it done and posted. heh.

Silent Hill 2 - Promise - This is just another one I wanted to share that I really like, again got chills listening to this. There is also a Piano version of it which is a bit more relaxed but still a good change from the full band.

Silent Hill 2 - Theme of Laura - Just another tune by the same people that I love listening too.

Special Selection:

If These Trees Could Talk - From Roots to Needles - This one is for Azrael and Sebastin, I was listening to it while we did the boosting for Rash during our force meld experiment with Aslyn. Also at one point during the rope walk at my first training session under Shimi with Azrael.

If These Trees Could Talk - What's in the ground belongs to you - This one is for Rash, I picture a MASSIVE Battle (sort of like the 300 scene or nips of different moments) as Sebastin's already refered to you as like a Juggernaut.

These are two songs which I believe are suppose to transition into each other, anyways I suggest listening to it on the night map at the shrine. Brilliant!

If These Trees Could Talk - Terra Incognita

If These Trees Could Talk - Above The Earth

----

Anyways, I know it's alot of the same stuff but the band is a great post rock band with no lyrics in any of their songs that I have heard. Few others tunes I like for certain characters but I'll leave you with that at the moment heh.

Regards,
SC

After much careful deliberation ::coughs:: i've decided that this would be a perfectly fitting soundtrack for young Zekii Abrak for several obvious reasons.
