I thought about it some more, and as long as it isn't spammed it could be quite good.
I was simply thinking back to a time when people had a gazillion text binds and shuddering slightly.
As long as people don't become reliant on these sounds to understand your characterisation/rp-ing, I'm all for it -
Perhaps if the sounds are conversational they can duplicate text, e.g. 'fancy a spar?' + *Fancy a Spar?* - otherwise those of us who turn sounds off from time to time miss out on the 'textual' role play
But yes, roars and random mutterings and whistles could be fun.
It would certainly be useful in missions.
