I guess I tend to do /ignore the manual way and tell them how I feel if they do bug me. Doesn't happen often though.

I'd feel much better having somebody PM me back saying "Anyway, no more OOC if that's alright" rather than them BLOCKING me.
It just feels a bit unnecessary and harsh and will only brew cold feelings amongst our members if utilized.

I know I would feel quite down-in-the-dumps if I discovered I was blocked because I was annoying somebody. (Not that I often make the first move when it comes to PMing on the server anyway.)

As a feature for RPMod when publicly released - Sure!
As a feature inteded towards JEDI - come on guys....
How would you know who you blocked? Would you see a list in the console...

I think it would be terrible to our community if we began to ignore one another, even hopefuls. If there is a problem with PM's, tell them its causing a problem. Be blunt about it, but in a nice way. If the problem persists, contact an admin. If the hopeful still continues to disrupt the RP, they can be kicked. It's better to try and correct their actions than merely ignore them. Then they will learn, rather than get frustrated or angry and cause more problems.

How about you make it where we can turn off the Private message feature then? That way we won't be able to recieve or send ANY PM's, unless an admin sent one or something. Eevryone's always talking about cutting the OOC. Just an idea.

PM's aren't always for OOC natter.

Sometimes PM's are for immediate and or pressing questions.
For example, when you encounter a hopeful using the Youngling skin: "What gender are you?"
Or when you see somebody as Kyle because you don't have their skin: "What race are you?"

Or simply those times you need to quickly correct something that has been said or done or when you are directing something.

Of course it doesn't always work that way and you WILL get people PMing you in a fashion that is hurtful to Role Play. Even so, I wouldn't suggest we allow the option to get rid of them. At least not for JEDI.

PM's are an example of something I would rather have and not need, than need and not have.

That's just my opinion of course.

That's why I said make it like a toggle switch. You can use it if you want, but people who don't have a use for it don't have to. I don't see a problem with making it a choice.

:?

It's rude and goes against our functionality as a community. I really don't like that we're still discussing it, honestly.

Whether it's hopefuls or other members we want to ignore, we have to learn to do it in a nice conservative manner that keeps the peace and shows that we actually learn from the things we discuss and learn about on server and don't just repeat them mindlessly.

But that was my Point Atrux. If it can be toggled, it means people can and will use it..

That's like saying "Here is a Winning Lotto ticket, you don't have to use it though."

Of course people are going to use it and that's the part I disagree with.

I agree. I don't think that this is a feature that should be used, by anyone.

Since we're all quoting here...
Hopefully, in the future, forum members will focus on improving their roleplay rather than trying to discredit and over-analyze suggestions. A member didn't like the way his graphics were rendered, so he adjusted them and out of his kindness decided to share for those who were similarly inclined. To attempt to nullify his work would often be seen as a sign of contempt.

Encourage each other folks. Forcing someone into a defensive position over a mere suggestion is absurd.
Once was enough.
