There is a planned JK4?!

Both of you would still be against this if it could be an addition, instead of a replacement?

Not at all. In fact... I think the idea has actually grown on me. Cause I would probably use it.

I have changed. /Support

As an addition? Maybe. It could give a more cinematic look/feel during missions. But for day-to-day training and sparring? I would rather see see the combat system remain as-is.

Maybe for our own private use, the addition could be fun in specific instances. On the whole, changing lightsaber combat like that? I don't think that's the kind of mod that Soh wants to release to the general public.

I really believe it would make combat far too difficult for us, as we are not Jedi and do not have Jedi reflexes, so the system we have no suites us fine and does well.

Basically, a new system would be cool, and perhaps even more realistic.

However, if a new saber system were introduced, it would create a real mess out of things, because it would basically put everyone on the same field as far as skill goes, meaning we'd have Jedi Masters who have spent years and years mastering the art of lightsaber combat who are now no better than the Initiates they're supposed to train. I'm sure people would enjoy it, but it'd really just be quite detrimental to our clan.

If added as an addition, it wouldn't be nearly as bad, and would perhaps be fine, though I'm not really sure on the matter and haven't really made up my mind yet.

The bottom line, though, is that this would drastically change gameplay, whereas up to now, most of the changes RPMod has introduced have been mainly small things that don't really affect gameplay, but affect how we play the game, if that makes sense.

Precisely.

after thinking about it yea some of you are right some may not want the manual blocking and some do, also most of you i believe got so used to base combat that it maybe difficult for alot of you to use the system unless you have someone that have experience with it to actually train everyone.

But its up to you guys if you want to use it or not which i have my doubts that you wont.Im just here just in case if you guys want it and it will be out in 2 weeks or less.

Also to point out the mod futures are:

of course new saber blocking system for mp and sp (yes its for singleplayer also)
new effect
new animations
and have a merged like system of moviebattles II and ojp enhanced.
and with this mod you can play this mod with any other mod combined. and the saber system is very easy to use and fast learning

If you could choose between the manual and base saber systems, maybe I would support this.

Kind of how I feel. I know people are saying "it's an adition, not a replacement" but if I remember correctly, Soh is reluctant to change the combat system we have. Something to do with keeping RPmod compatible with base JKA players. Something like that, I won't pretend to know all about it.

I just think this would take a lot of programming for something that is in essence "a novelty". It would be interesting for sure, but I can see most people reverting back to the usual combat system once they've tried out manual and failed miserably.
Don't get me wrong! I love manual blocking in other games but as Ergo mentioned, we're not Jedi. Some of the moves in JKA are so glitchy and swift that manual blocking would prove a fruitless waste of programming as people will, by default, take the option that wins.

A nice suggestion for sure but it's just not for me.

Being able to manually block would a a lot to the realism of it, and I would absolutely love to have a manual combat system while training my padawans. I can personally force the combat system to parry when I want to, and sort of block on command. It's tough to do, though.

However, I realize that this idea is always very unpopular each time that it is brought up, so I don't make a big fuss about it. It would just be nice to have, in my opinion.
Completely agree.
Yeah, I agree too, it is far more realistic.

ah though to add, the saber system:

*more realistic
*better blocking (way better then mbII and ojp)
*better projectile and lightning effects (more enhanced)
*better animations
*doesnt take alot of fps
*absorb lightning, and blocks lazar projectiles with hand(like darth vader done on empire strike back when hon solo shot at him pretty awesome)
*and its way more enhanced then ojp and mbII
*faster force powerups and focus(as for ojp you dont have to worry to much about dieing if your focus is low just make sure your parry good enough to survive)

Note: if im accepted to join the community for rp, and everyone accepts to use this mod, ill teach the masters how to use the system and they can pass it down to the padawans and apprentice

Note: Also to point out this mod is like an add on to JKA which means you can use this mod with any other mod and yes for roleplay mod you are still able to use your emotions.
