Well, for the purpose I'm suggesting, they're kind of pointless if the shield doesn't work. As for the saber droids...I honestly don't see the point. There already many NPC that can be used in that Hologram room or be spawned by a admin.

It is QUITE difficult to deflect blaster fire, or reflect, you have to swing at it. The aim of ALL the droids(holos) is to trian padawans/initiates to deflect/spar in a somewhat reserved manner. We don't wan'a get ripped in half y'a know...But I think it should be simple to add one with a sheild there might be one already in mind you...

he is currently not working at the moment anyways.
not with the NPC*s at least.
this NPC should be working, that is unless Soh or someone else disabled them very recently. I've used them two or three times in the past two months or so, at least since I've returned.
Like Aslyn stated earlier...they lack the shielding that you were searching for Delmi. However, each spawnable training droid comes with three different levels dictating its difficulty, 1 being the easiest and 3 being the hardest.
I believe the command line to spawn this droid is /npc spawn jeditraindroid_g1(or s1)...I always have to play with this line because I always forget.

So, you can spawn the droid, but the shield won't be there. I guess my question is: is it possible to make it so the the shield does work?

wouldn't it be easier if the master just grabed a blaster?

Of course a Master could do that, but I'm suggesting that the droid with the shield be used for saber exercises or training in general.

perhaps if it could be spawned without the presance of a master, that should be good.

Honestly, I somehow doubt that it is, without a good bit of work. The droid we can spawn is actually not the same as the one in SP - it's the same model, yes, but it has less HP and, as you've noticed, no shield. As such, I'm pretty sure the SP model has different rules governing it's usage, much the same way that some of the lightsaber-wielding NPCs do (Alora in particular).
With regards to JH-101 (the droid that spawns NPCs for your own usage), to my knowledge, it is capable of spawning NPCs, but needs co-ordinates to place the NPCs that it spawns, much on Mon Calamari - you'd use JH-101 to activate the NPC, but they'd appear in the middle of the room, within the shield. Since JH-101 hasn't been set up as an established droid for this map (whereas A-48 and B-52 have), like as not, that same spawnpoint hasn't been setup either. Could be done, but hasn't yet.

JH-101 will be soon completely reformatted to accomodate our present situation on Yavin IV.
