I know, not sure if we are allowed to use it though or if there is a single saber version but it would be pretty neat if it was implemented as such.

It's like a right of passage in my mind. If you're on our server and hoping to be a permanent part, you have to earn the right to carry a weapon on it. Once you do that and get an account, you can play characters with weapons on your account-they just won't be permanent unless they are your secondary.
At times in our JEDI lives, even our Jedi characters give up their sabers from to time. It's a part of our "roleplayed" lives, and as I said, a right of passage.

Unless you can come up with a valid reason for needing a weapon I don't see the point.

I really agree with this point.

We're also forgetting that, canonically, our location isn't public knowledge. In our canon, students arrive in two different ways:
- They come to the Coruscant Temple, and are routed to Yavin IV.
- They crash into the jungle and happen upon us by accident.
It's standard protocol for the guards outside of the Temple to confiscate minor weapons before allowing someone to enter through the gates. In the case of the more dangerous weapons, they likely would be confiscated before arriving. The path is hidden and the navigation isn't revealed on the way over. There's no reason that a random guest would have a blaster, etc.

I agree with Master Corinth on this one. It's a bit too bad you thought you would be flamed though, however. In my humble opinion, guests should not be granted weapons for the safety of the students. Flip side, I also highly agree with Master Kevari.

Non ::JEDI:: characters with weapons are always event characters methinks.

I play a lot on non rp servers and its like an instinct for a player to kill other players if he has some kind of weapon. Now, with the admins we should able to control them and let them have weapons but it could as well ruin the role play if we let them have the weapons and there is no admin around.

That's the problem. Say you and I are on the server and some trigger happy "bounty hunter" comes in. Where does that leave us?

Truthfully, I think most of the points you've brought up have been answered already.

If someone absolutely NEEDS a weapon in game, who is not a member, you could suggest a credit system like the XP system we have. You can earn credits (kinda like disney dollars, they're only good at the JEDI temple

) from an admin., and buy certain, approved weapons from a droid or something in game. This suggestion could also work for saber parts, droid parts, repair tools, Comm-links,....yada yada yada. Everything else but the weapons would be purely RP though.
First 75-80 credits- Comm-link.
Just a thought, even though I'm rather against the idea of non-members having weapons, this suggestion only makes it available to whoever the council/admins think are trustworthy enough, I thought it might help.

I think this topic has served its purpose and is vulnerable towards over-complication.

If nothing else, just implimenting that for pure RP instead of adding it to the mod would be neat. I thought of having atrux sale Comm-links (non-profit- the Jedi way of course

) and other things as well. Didn't think I had the authority though.
On another note, there wasn't many posts opposing the general view so I thought the thread was a bit naked.

Well that's a nice idea! And with some nice coding we could have our own droid following us around O.O
