~ Rules & Tips Update ~

Greetings All,

On 471.25 ABY, the following update was made to JEDI's rules & protocols:
  • V. Rejoining Anonymously was updated to clarify expectations regarding identity disclosure for returning members.

V. Rejoining Anonymously

A former member may wish to return to JEDI under a new character while keeping their previous characters and OOC personas private from the wider community. JEDI supports players rejoining anonymously, allowing them to enjoy a clean slate, avoid preconceived expectations and focus on role-play without the weight of past characters.

However, to ensure the Council is able to make informed decisions regarding membership, all returning members must disclose their previous identities and characters to the Council prior to entering the hopeful process or applying to re‑roll. This information can remain confidential within the Council at the players request if they choose to remain anonymous within the community.

While the decision to return anonymously may enhance the role-play experience, a player's anonymity must not be used to actively deceive other players.

The following actions constitute harmful deceptive behaviours and are prohibited:
  • Creating fabricated OOC personas to mislead members.
  • Targeting players for friendship or influence where prior OOC conflict existed.
  • Pretending to be inexperienced with aspects of JEDI's systems or processes to manufacture OOC interaction.
  • Attempting to solicit opinions about one’s past characters or OOC persona while concealing identity.
  • Selectively revealing one’s identity to certain players in ways that are problematic and call upon other players to deceive members.
Players who choose to remain anonymous must demonstrate mature OOC conduct. Anonymity must not be used in ways that create interpersonal tension, disrupt community cohesion, or undermine the respectful environment expected of all members.

Members must also respect the right of others to remain anonymous. No player should pressure, coerce, or manipulate another into revealing their identity. If an anonymous member feels they are being pushed to disclose personal information, they are able to contact the Council for assistance.
