I disagree Gabe, for the simple reason that being mentally competent is one thing, but then when you stand up and lone behold, you are a weak weak consular, you aren't going to be able to use half of what you just accomplished in your head (in TRUE DUEL mode).

Psychic combat, or internalised duels are the provision of very few Jedi characters in the EU. Yes, we've RP'd it in the past BUT if TRUE DUEL mode is implemented, it should be for the sole purpose of improving at the game mechanics OR having an out of character spar/duel as some light relief.

Something as inherently complex and disciplined as meditative sparring shouldn't be used as the excuse or reason for TRUE DUEL.

What goes on between master and padawan is down to the masters discretion, this topic is about an OOC (or at least a topic that transcends the normal application of RPmod, it's template and it's RP friendly features) issue that I personally think should not have an IC application.

Ah, good points, I hadn't fully thought it out. I was more illustrating the uses of "mental sparring", rather than giving reasons to support this implementation. Just ignore me, I'm an old coot in exile :P

Jump level should be set to 3 too, since levels 4 and 5 grant a bonus to jump-speed, meaning that the opponent with lvl 4/5 can travel any distance (advancing/retreating/evading) faster with a hop/leap than the opponent with lvl 3.

All though its not my place to say seeing as I myself havent fought or dueled with the RPmod. It sounds rather unbalanced greatly though then again it sounds like it fits in perfectly with you alls IC growth deal I remember it seems like a very long time ago i got on a JEDI server before they came up with the anti lamer thing by taking peoples sabers and force away and force them to comply to months of RP till they could even use them or even see if they even liked playing fighting within the mod its self. All in all it sounds very unbalanced but then again fitting for the IC RP growth not that i agree with it ether way.

While we appreciate suggestions from anyone, please take the time to establish when a thread has been inactive for some time.

Quibbles about JEDI discouraging people has no baring on RPmod. RPmod is in it's beta. Our practices are unrelated to the final public release of RPmod version 1.0.

You lack powers because you don't have an account. That's entirely based on clan practice within OUR role play. Suggestions for RPmod should be about the features of the mod itself or possible things to add to it.

I suggest you desist necro posting and thoroughly read the suggestion threads in their entirety if you wish to make further suggestions.

I'd say if you want to practice to get better in base jka for other servers, you go to another server. We don't need another reason to break the RP on our server. It's supposed to be an RP server. Besides, it would look rediculous to see a youngling model scaled to 100% fighting someone. In my opinion, anything ooc should be taken elsewhere.

Out of character actions.
Out of server.

I don't feel RPMod needs a true duel mode. If you feel the need to fight ooc, find a ffa or duel server for a bit.
