I applaud your skinning ability. Really, I do! However, there are still two things that gripe me regarding your skin. Don't worry, I promise that it's pretty much only me that it'll bother.

First! As you may have noticed from time spent on the server, a lot of members insist upon entirely white, or entirely black Jedi tunics, or a blend of black and white. All 3 combinations are just plain and dull looking, in my own opinion! An entirely black atire, to me, just looks depressing. I do not associate it with being a Sith Lord or anything. Just, it's very boring to look at. White is the same. If everything in your attire is white, there's nothing interesting to look at. The fact that so many members use entirely white or black skins makes the effect even worse. Again, only my opinion! A fair few have mixed the two colours together, but I still think that they look horribly plain.

An example of more interesting robes: Jared Quell
Nivek - The right-hand skin being done by Syrena for me.

My other gripe is the Anakin model itself. Granted, it's the best model for Jedi tunics available on the net at the moment - in most people's opinion. Personally, I prefer the model that Rash uses and I used as Nivek, with its various head options etc, but that's besides the point. What is the point, is that despite the different skinning work applied to all of these, they're for the most part, exactly the same, their colour being the exception. Yes, members have more elaborate versions in their pk3, but they seem to take a back seat in favour of walking around like Ringwraiths and Death Eaters. The model's shape is so generic, I'd rather we switched up the model usage a little more. Bare in mind, that you are not obligated to wear classic Jedi tunics, either. Look at Amoné and Nastajja. When Syrena Exan was a Padawan, her skins were not really all that elaborate. However, they were considered amazing because they were interesting, different. I'd searched for a few pictures of her skins using the Leia model and the one thereafter, but the internet let me down! (And so did she, for not keeping those pictures uploaded ...>_>...<_<) Sorry to bring up a point of comparison without a reference pic. (Hint-hint! <_<)

Just, please consider taking a look at what models are out there, and see if you can find a more unique and interesting look through doing so. I'm sure - even if not all of us can skin - we'd still be willing to help offer ideas.

Lol, variation. :P Kidding!

If you want to stick with Anakin, that's everybodies business. Remember, it's only my opinion.

I think these are what you were referring to:

(Ponytail, despite that not being in the model)

Yes, a bathing suit. We had a pond, okay! GOSH! >_> That's the same model Wynne uses now, by the way!

I've come along in my skinning since then, but I've always enjoyed finding alternatives to robes.

I believe I shall look into some alternative portrayals for my character. I am quite annoyed by the lack of model variation, but I don't do much because, well I can't model something nice for myself. But I'm sure having some new outfits would definitely be interesting. I'll also look at colour combinations.

Thanks for the Feedback Guys! :)

I'd also avoid being too far-sighted with your character and how he will look as an adult and old man etc.

I always had a rough idea of what I imagined Amoné would look as an adult but have been grossly surprised by how she's changed as a characer beyond what I predicted. I've skinned her accordingly.

Be dynamic and malleable with your character rather than coming in with an end-game "This is how it's going to be in 30 years time mindset" from the start.

In short: Stick to reskinning your character in his current age. Inspiration will come with time and through genuine character development. :)

Besides, nobody likes spoilers!

I can't agree more with holding off from your future models like what Amoné pointed out. Me personally, I always expected Illrian to have the default tunic mixed with an outfit like Luke (as he did at one time) and just be the full-blown Guardian. But as time went on, I ended up developing his character a bit differently and now he has more of a Consular-like robe.

Also, about color.. Kih is right and I'll admit I'm one of those that enjoys my white/black robes. However, if you'll notice I also have changed mine up a bit. I have a brown variation in my Consular robes, and with my standard tunic I wear my teal/purple one all the time, every once in a while wearing my purple/black one.

(Ignore the eyes please...)

Also, to get the standard jedi tunic without using Anakin or Obi-Wan from HapSlash, I'd recommend Toshi's Anakin Model, its nicely done as well and adds a little variation in looks. Its also not used by most within JEDI... I think I'm the only current member that uses it, and I've tweaked the lower robes to be a bit longer than standard.

But again, I agree with Amoné. Stick with the model of your current characters stage, don't get too carried away with what he'll be in the future or else your roleplay might be based on what you want him to look like later on, instead of having what he looks like later on being based off his roleplay.

I'll give one example; I never expected Illrian to have the scars over his face/body from the lightning used on him, because I was never expecting that to happen. Yet, for his trials more or less, he was faced with near-death by a dark user torturing him and Johauna with lightning, leaving both fairly scared. This not only affected Illrian's appearance in a way I wasn't expected, but also affected how he acted and saw things.

Ssshh ;D

Its mainly just experiance so when I do get around to skinning his later appearances when I get to roleplaying them, I'll have the knowledge and means

What better a reason then that, practice makes perfect. :)

Lol Kih Bu! :D
I was talking about the face man! And well also the hair made it more less "Anaky." It's really hard to make the face of that model appear differently in game.

One real good work was Aurien's model when he had shorter hair. Super ;) cute and it didn't really look like Anakin's face in-game.

No place for a bathing suit for Wynne :P Nastajja. Haha. But I remember those skins, they were cute as well.

@Illrian - Actually, I use parts of Toshi's Anakin as well, although, I have modified it quite a bit; the head is from Gwenthenea and I also slightly 'curved' the torso. The reason, why I don't use, nor like the Jedi female customization is, that the model is just too skinny and is not representing well the fact, that Jo simply is and always will be butch.
Also, the inner tunic is different, it's taken from Luke Skywalker's tunic he wore in ROTS, being a high collar rather than an undertunic.

It's always good to see diversity, although very few people are capable of actually modelling and more importantly, weighting.
