Yeh well, aren't you supposed to be a consular anyway right? lol
Think What Corinth is suggesting is that with all of the above, you could also spend XP boosting your health/force.. so You could in theory gain more HP...
If i'm following correctly.

I strongly believe that Corinth's suggestion is not just an excellent compromise, but also it could really boost up the character customization in a mod-wise sense.
So far we already do this, but only in our RP, out of game mechanics, so I believe that using exp to practically modify our characters physical patterns along with the force patterns would be excellent

Add the ability to alter your health and force pool with XP, just as you do for other powers. In my opinion, this would perfect a species system. You'd have the base abilities and weaknesses of your species, and still be free to customize your character however you wish. That's the whole point of a species system. You'd be much more free to create your character as you would have him/her.
I'd be much happier with that.

I guess that would be interesting.

Funny.
Although what Corinth suggested utterly destroys the quintessence of Gabe's idea while claiming to do otherwise, and pushes forward the frowned-upon mindset of how HP/FP-buffs should not be aimed for, it is widely accepted (by people who stated themselves that they would disapprove of a massive HP/FP-buff (what this idea basically does)).
Where are those who claim Gabe's idea to be land of milk and honey regarding exploits, while failing to see how easily a HP/FP-buff-system can be exploited?

If that's what he's saying... should we have 2 different kinds of XP? i.e. FXP and PXP (Force XP and Physical XP, respectively)? Like, have the PXP increase HP/Force pools & FXP gain powers?

The primary difference being that you need to spend XP in order to gain the HP/FP, which means your Force abilities are naturally diminished because the XP is being split three ways.

That would contradict with the essence of a species-system. Taking Wookiees as an example: if you had a Wook running around with, say, 125 max. HP, but 321 max. FP which he gained through buffing his FP value, would that not nullify the idea of a species-system? You can apply the opposite to Ithorians. These are extremes, but this can be transferred to other races.
Seeing how you receive a "standard" (read relatively far developed template) Force Power template as you hit your 2nd/3rd year in knighthood, you have from then on plenty of XP to spend on your HP/FP pools.
Unless the XP necessary to raise your HP/FP is massive (which would then again nullify the sense of this system, for how grande is the gain of it if you are able to raise your HP/FP a bit at a massive XP cost?), exploiting this system will be easy.

But spending XP on HP and FP is obviously going to take away from your points to spend on new force abilties. (Jump, Push, Pull, Saber attack/defense). The speicies will just give you a booster in some fields.
I just like to know that i'm forced into an inferior position by race and I can infact change it if I want by using my XP.
I do believe there should be an HP and FP cap to prevent people from getting like.. 400-500 HP.

It doesn't matter what kind of system you have. They are ALL easy to exploit if you so choose. If the Knights and Masters in charge of xp grants behave themselves and follow whatever guidelines are created, there wont be an issue. All xp gains and spending of xp should be monitored closely regardless of the system in place.

That's particularly pertinent at the moment, Kaelen, and I agree 100%.

To be honest, do we 'really' need all that HP? It's turning from trying to be reality to looking at it as a game perspective, IMO. No matter how much HP you have, in reality if there were lightsabers and one attacked your neck, you'd have a head laying on the ground.
Now, understandable if it was FP, because hey... they can always go up indicating that you can use the force more. But, HP be pointless.

That is so true Kael.

Yeah, all the hp in the Galaxy won't save you if that's the case. Good point.
