The type initializer for [...] threw an exception

Hi,
today, after a sudden crash of my PC (blue screen) while I was connected to the server, I got this error upon launching RPMod launcher after the PC restarted:

Error2.jpg
I tried to do the following:
  • Reboot PC
  • Reinstall RPMod
  • Reinstall C++ and .Net Framework
Despite all these attempts, I still get this error.
On a side note, I can still launch the game with RPMod and manually connect to the server (by using the console), but when I try to refresh the servers list from the game, I get no results.

Help

Is the options settings still set to how it should?

I have same problem. But have not had pc issues. This only happens when trying to download new content or patches.

Hmm, this error message doesn't really provide enough information to understand what's going on (I will work on improving error reporting in future versions).

Things you might want to try:
  • Extract the RPMod-Launcher.pk3 file manually (in your "GameData/rpmod" folder) using a tool like 7-zip, overwriting any existing file during the process.
  • Backup and delete the user.config file in the "%LOCALAPPDATA%\FC_Prod\RPMod-Launcher.exe_StrongName_vcaink4zkoafixp4jj54iqq1e4qvbvrc\0.5.0.0" folder (the %LOCALAPPDATA% part will be automatically replaced with the appropriate location in Windows Explorer).
This should ensure that you start with fresh configuration files.

Let me know if this helped or not. :)

I wanted to revive this topic as it suddenly became an issue for myself, the solution given by Soh works.
Perhaps a topic dedicated to this should be posted in the Information section for future reference.
