If that is the reason then the Lightsaber already seems far more appealing to me. That sort of mistake would suggest our friend there isn't exactly the most experienced dark sider, which pertains to good story telling.

I remember when people were foruming about the silliness of a double-bladed saber when some random dude with horns and wild silly black and red face paint was shown with it in the first Ep. I trailer.

If they're gonna go with the weird lightsaber designs, I really hope we get to see a lightwhip. That would be so cool.

After reading this article, I think the lightsaber in the trailer is a firesaber. As for the rest of the trailer, it looked a little bit like those fan made ones. I liked the parts where the x wings were flying over the water and the falcon did that little scene in the desert. Other than, I guess it was okay...Alehk Thol wrote:Canonical lightsabers

With his love's last breath, she too exhaled a tale:
A new sun rises from the sea to flood the land in light...
Raising the mother's shining soul as blessing, these spirits light the dark to cull
Many times for eons yet to pass, the day will fade and night again will fall
But when it's darkest and again we thrash within its grip
Again the sun will rise
those spirits come to save us all

I do agree with you about the lightsaber, it very much looks like it. And like Motoko said, that's something we will probably forget after some time and become the norm like the staff did. It might not look good but it's in fact useful when you think about it. Oh ? I thought opinions worked here ?Mirkal wrote: After reading this article, I think the lightsaber in the trailer is a firesaber. Exodus is a fanon site, wookieepedia has nothing on firesabers but I suppose it can still work.

I'm sure this is on everyone's mind, but in case it isn't I must ask.
Once Episode 7 is released, will we adopt it into ::JEDI:: canon?

I think we're far enough in to our own canon that there is little that can be done to truly effect our roleplay. The only way that would happen would be if Luke never continued as a Jedi...and, let's be honest, that's unlikely.Virtuo Alegan wrote:I'm sure this is on everyone's mind, but in case it isn't I must ask.

That ::JEDI:: is going to keep its own canon.

Pretty much the same as it always had been, I think we discussed this when EU was pretty much made irrelevant, given the basis of Jedi is built upon EU and we often use it IC.. I don't think much will drastically and I don't think much of what's going to happen in the movies will really affect us, given we're now 2 hundred years ahead of that.Virtuo Alegan wrote:I'm sure this is on everyone's mind, but in case it isn't I must ask.

Hayde Mortes, you make a comment like that again and brush it aside, I will ban you so fast your PC won't be able to process what just happened.
This is your first and now last warning in JEDI. Do I make myself clear?

There is a lot of talk about JJ and what he intends to do wtih the Star Wars universe and he has stated that he wants to stay true to the feel of originals, and he's researching a lot of the original source material like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5r-R070qHYw
