While in game my game freezes and then I disconnect with this message:

Error

MAX_GAMESTATE_CHARS

exceeded

Anybody ever seen this before?

We've all been getting it the last two days, it might be a skin error or simply a server error but I've never known what triggers it only that it causes half a server to suddenly get booted off.

Any explanations, Soh?

I think most of the server encountered it when Coren connected though I can't see why if any reason for him to be the cause as it's happened a few times since, it might be the sudden load on the server or a different cause all together, perhaps Soh can provide an explanation?

We just had it a few times during heavy NPC traffic, may be related to number of models in general, unsure. Didn't happen after we cut down on them.

This error may happen when too many different resources are loaded by a map or through admin commands. Such resources may include models, sounds, effects, etc. When a resource is loaded, it remains so until the map or server is restarted.

Did this occur on a specific map?

It seems to happen on the Temple server or at least I didn't encounter this error on the other servers yet.

It's serverwide, we all get it as a result of overcrowding I believe.

I think that may be true, but I have on server before with 25 plus people and it hasn't happened

In other words, the combination of things that took place on Galaxy during the mission overwhelmed the server, which affected everyone. Temple handles an awful lot too, and so required a reset. It's not a problem on any one person's side. :)

Greetings all,

If this error appears again, please alert any councilor again as soon as possible. We'll be looking into this a bit more to see how we can reduce the chances of it happening again.
