Though giving her the lightsaber does seem a reasonable assumption as in the retconned version of events he personally had crafted her one himself with a red blade.

The hand on the right isn't even human. It would only make sense, considering that they used Mark Hamill's REAL hand during ESB and ROTJ, Mark has clearly aged and I think it would've complicated things to keep one of his hands younger looking rather than making it purely mechanized, obviously synthskin doesn't age and I don't think it would've disintegrated.Evanin wrote:As good an answer as any, not to mention he was shot in the hand on Jabbas Sail Barge so he possible removed it himself and used plates instead.
