What is a Jedi?

This is the first lesson recommended for Initiates to learn and I think it's a very important one. I want to understand exactly what it is I am to become.

• Additional Information:

It's been recommended to me that perhaps I should be a bit more specific about what it is that I want to get out of this lesson as this is a broad question.

I've decided to pick three main questions I'd like answered:

1. Why was the Jedi Order started and why does it continue today?

2. Is being a Jedi more about living by the Code or helping others and spreading peace?

3. What's the closest thing to a single sentence description that can really answer 'What is a Jedi?' or it it all opinion?

I understand that this is a broad subject and my be more philosophical then originally intended.

In the absence of any other instructor, I'll be happy to have this discussion with you, Ilaine. Do be aware that you'll be doing a good bit of the talking, however!

This can be closed as I have been here for a year now and know that a Jedi is a servant of the force and member of the Jedi Order or operates with the mindset he learned therein.
