Dear students,

Of late, I've come to recognise that many among the Order have chosen to mystify the nature of the Sith, and turn them into either a monstrous, sadistic danger of which we shall not speak, or otherwise referred to in such cliche terms that you could learn as much by watching Holonet movies (and not the documentary ones!).

With that in mind, I'm going to kick off a new lesson series focusing on the Dark Side, and yes, we'll start with the Sith. Not necessarily because it is the best place for us to begin, but rather because it is an essential part of the training process. We are at war with the Sith, and it is only appropriate therefore that we should know our enemy - not only that we might fight them, if we must, but also so that we might understand who they are and what their reasons are for doing it.

Invariably, what is often not understood is that the Sith hold as complex a methodology and system of practice as we do: they are not merely base animals, seeking after power or authority with no true objective in mind, nor are they psychopaths with no will but to dominate and destroy. This is a perversion, a cliche that must be brushed to one side. It is as the Code reminds us: only with knowledge can be defeat ignorance, and so it is I shall do with you.

I'll be looking into holding our sessions somewhere a little more fascinating than a lecture theatre, so do keep your eyes open for the appropriate simulation files, unless I feel somewhere more real is called for. Hope to see you all there at the appropriate time. Be well!

I would like to join this lesson. I wish to know more about our enemy as well as more on the nature of the Dark Side.

I appreciate that I am no longer a student, but much of this topic was brushed aside and kept hush hush when I was. I would like to attend, if only to crowd up the place whilst I listen.

I will note that attendance at these lessons is dependent on approaching it with mature behaviour - this is a very serious topic, and should be dealt with accordingly. Any inappropriateness, and you'll be barred from attending the remaining sessions in this series, and will remain so until such time as a more adult mindset can be demonstrated. The Dark Side is nothing to laugh at - I have every intention of de-mystifying a fair few things, but that will not make them trivial in any way, shape or form. That goes for everybody.
