Drowning Mechanic In JKA

After stumbling over this topic looking through the forums I thought this would be a great topic to bring back up again since we are seeing and dealing with a lot of aquatic species lately including my own, and it kind of kills the role play for us aquatic characters seeing we are so used to actually being underwater and can't even role play that aspect. If there is any way to disable the drowning mechanism for role play purposes, such as training and such without the drowning effect that would be greatly appreciated. :mrgreen:

I do know servers can turn this off. And really, we have no need for the drowning mechanic, as it doesn't add realism for us to die IC underwater anyway. We'd get far better use out of having it turned off.

This would make underwater combat [training] a possibility! Could help with Force assisted breathing training too!

Not to mention the comedy value of filling the ponds with the amphibious among us!

But it *was* done! It's a feature of RPMod 0.5.0, it just needs to be used. :-)

Note that rp_disableDrowning needs to be changed to 1 server-side first, as it is set to 0 currently.

I've disabled it now through the website, but when I looked through the server.cfg I couldn't find rp_disableDrowning, do I just add it?

Changing it through the rcon command line has worked so drowning is currently disabled (yay) but I'm not sure if this will remain the case upon a server restart so if drowning suddenly turns off I can easily turn it back on for everyone.
