JEDI Comport

I'm having some trouble with the update feature. If someone updates their skin for example, or there's a new pack released, there are always 2 replicas of each updated file. It ends up downloading the same thing twice.

Please advise!

Try updating just one and refresh the list to see if it still appear. You may have duplicates in your game folder though.
If I remember right the updated folder is displayed in the launcher (under the file name) so you can check to see where those duplicates could be.
