Who We Are
Welcome to the Associated Presses, where journalism meets community empowerment. For 420 cycles the people of The Associated Presses have had the privilege of bringing news and information to the galaxy. Through these over 4 centuries we have maintained a rigorous commitment, our correspondents too often making great sacrifices to ensure so, to ensure that our news is reported swiftly, accurately, fairly, and in a balanced and unbiased way. We are a not-for-profit cooperative committed to delivering accurate, unbiased, and impactful news stories that matter most to our galactic community.
Our Mission:
Since 20 ABY we’ve been breaking news and covering the galaxy’s biggest stories while always remaining committed to the highest standards of accurate, unbiased journalism. At the Associated Presses, we believe that access to reliable information is essential for a thriving and informed society. To this day we’re wholly independent, our only obligation to the truth and not private interests, and we continue our mission to serve the public interest by providing news that empowers individuals, fosters civic engagement, and builds a sense of community.
Unbiased Reporting:
While we are based in the Republic, we understand the importance of unbiased journalism in the health of not only the galaxy’s largest democracy, but also the health of our galactic community at large. We prioritize reporting both inside and outside of the Republic’s borders taking us from the front lines of regional conflicts, the halls of the Senate building, and everything in between. Our dedicated team of journalists is committed to delivering news stories with accuracy, fairness, and integrity. We strive to present diverse perspectives, enabling our audience to form their own opinions based on well-rounded information.
Community Engagement:
At the heart of our organization is a deep commitment to community engagement. We actively seek input from our members and the broader community, valuing their insights and ensuring that our reporting reflects the issues and concerns that matter most to them. Through events, forums, and open discussions, we aim to create a platform where community voices are heard and respected.
Not-for-Profit Commitment:
As a not-for-profit organization, our primary focus is on serving the public, not generating profits. This allows us to prioritize quality journalism over commercial interests, ensuring that our reporting remains independent and free from undue influence. We operate on the principle that news should serve the community it represents. Our cooperative structure ensures that our members have a direct say in the decisions we make, fostering transparency, accountability, and a shared commitment to the public good.
Transparency and Accountability:
We believe in transparency as the foundation of trust. Our operations, funding sources, and decision-making processes are open to scrutiny, reinforcing our commitment to accountability. We welcome feedback from our community, as it helps us continuously improve and better serve the public.
Join Us in Shaping the News:
The Associated Presses are more than just a news source; it's a community-driven platform for ensuring the representation of many diverse perspectives in the galactic narrative and conversation.
