- A shootout between a woman and three mercenaries occurred in the Red Light district in Duneeden's Capital city of Ro'dyn.

- Master Mirkal and apprentice Torij'kon were summoned to assist in the investigation of the shootout.
- Master Mirkal and Padawan Torij'kon tracked and escorted the target of the shooting back to the Jedi Temple.

- The victim is a courier for the Black Sun Crime Syndicate going by the moniker 'Whisper'.
- Whisper was en route to turning herself in to the Republic Authorities but was intercepted.
- Black Sun is manufacturing a new form of drug that appears to render users catatonic after prolonged use.
- Padawan Torij'kon underwent most of the investigations. Master Mirkal chose to inquire the CSI team and DDF officers on site. Padawan Padawan Torij deduced that Whisper escaped through the back exit of the cantina.

- After escaping the cantina, Whisper made her way to the sewers where she was found attempting to hide among Ro'dyn's homeless populations.
- Black Sun is synthesizing a new drug that renders users catatonic with prolonged use. Whisper Implied that many of the denizens encountered in the sewers were under the sway of this new psychedelic.
- Master Mirkal and Padawan Torij'kon were requested to attend the investigation by Police Chief Denelor. He stated there is a high probability that the DDF contains inside agents of Black Sun. The on-site investigation team were unaware that Jedi were en route, and seemed anxious about their arrival, adding support to this theory.
- Upon the Jedi finding Whisper, a cloaked mercenary appeared from the far side of the sewer and fired at the informant. Master Mirkal and Padawan Torij'kon ignited their blades, and the would-be assailant promptly departed.
- During Whisper's debrief, she offered up the last message she was given to send out. Message will be decrypted by encryptcode decryptors, with supplemental effort assistance from the Knight and Student bodies.

Due to the addictive nature of this drug and the state of the Republic economy in these times and in the Core in particular, widespread use of this drug will wreak even more catastrophic damage to the Republic's infrastructure, and by extension the greater galaxy. The morals of the Republic will not allow all afflicted beings to wither away in their catatonic state. There will be humanitarian and medical aid efforts that we cannot afford with conflict in the Outer Rim become more of a distinct possibility.
Hard copies of the message given to us by Whisper have been made and are available for reference in the archives and security offices to be deciphered through collaboration. The message is not to be removed nor discussed outside of Temple Grounds.
My recommendations are as follows...
- Decrypt the latest message given to us by Whisper.
- Track the manufacturing process and locations of the new drug.
- Collaborate with DDF IA to ascertain if Black Sun agents are operating in the DDF.
