I understand that as of now there is a conflict going on in the galaxy, including the Jedi.
I also do understand that Jedi and Republic are two separate wholes, fractions; however, Duneeden, our current home, lays in the Republic teritorrium. Many of us come from the Republic.

Who are we, the Jedi, to the Republic? Do we have some history in common? What is the Republic to us? Why are we allowed to stay here? What can I expect as a Jedi when meeting Republic citizen? Would the percetion be different from other political fractions?

Some time back. We spoke with padawan Besk. We had many debates, one of the many were about the fractions. It was a long ago so I hope I can remember and paraphraze well- we spoke face to face so I have no message I can link.

Padawan Besk spoke a little about Hutt sector where he came from; slavery, how some systems were just cruel and unfair.
I am also aware of his great dislike for the Fel Empire and namely their Emperor, he disliked the principles of their Emperor having the same powers as our Grandmaster yet lacking wisdom and understandment of one.
We also did speak about republic.
He mentioned something about corruption, bribery, no one doing -anything- to help, burocracy, slow systems. I was reminded about this on the briefing we had some time back.
From what I understand… none of this systems is doing good. All have flaws. Is there a way to make any of these ruling systems right, correct, ever?
Could we please get comparison of democracy and empire? Is Republic government full of inteligence-used-wrong-way (cunning, manipulation)? Why is the democracy of the Republic way it is now? Is it better this way? Would it be better if the Galaxy was ruled by some political whole, if so, which one?

Sa-Fira,
It will take me a little bit of time to collect my notes for this class but I would be interested to provide it.

Let me get back to you with a date soon.
