I'm curious what ya'll think of your characters sound like. Whether its a description, a specific actor or voice actor, or a specific character from media!

I've always based Vira off Mina from My Hero Academia. So, Vira sounds like her :P

Something I still need to figure out, but I’m leaning towards Jett from Valorant for Dosuki

While Kadaj from Advent Children (English VA) is what I imagined Vytorin sounding like from 14 to 20

Current day, probably like Poe Dameron (I really need to update my soundset, lol).

As he gets older, probably like John Marsden from Red Dead Redemption or Michael De Santa from GTA V, more gravelly.

San'ago's voice and mannerisms were borrowed from Forager from young Justice!

Sam Witwer's "normal" speaking voice is close enough to how I imagine Gax sounds - especially as he ages further into adulthood :)

This is a placeholder post until I've recorded myself, because I have a really specific voice and accent in mind for her.

Nah, I give up, I can't make a recording that I'm satisfied with and I don't know voice actors, so description incoming.

Thala began as a piping high soprano as a child. Her current teen voice is medium high (mezzo soprano), and will steadily mellow and warm over time. (Think violin to viola, or piccolo to flute to clarinet). Her "native" adult voice will be solidly alto: if Atok keeps poking her into singing she'll keep a decent vocal range, though in air her voice has a light rasp that disappears in water. She's also prone to mimicry, which keeps her range pretty broad.

Also because of the mimicry and social-chameleon tendency, her native Mon Calamari accent is frequently suppressed unless she is immensely tired or deeply focused: flowing vowels and "bubbly" consonants (the explosives like B and P get emphasized). Her normal Basic accent when she's comfortable is a mix of Dac, Corellian, Coruscant, and Outer Rim, and she will occasionally mispronounce words or use archaic grammar because she learned them from reading. When she's not comfortable or speaking with Authorities, her diction and accent are the equivalent of "TV Perfect, BBC Edition", before slowly mixing in tones and speech patterns from whomever she's speaking with. (For other languages, it depends on whether she learned it from books, recordings, or a native speaker).

When she's speaking in ^k, unless otherwise noted, she's speaking clearly (not mumbling or whispering) but softly, intending only for herself or someone within arm's reach. (She's still startled when she's heard by someone with Force-tuned senses).

Wookiepedia suggests that Mon Cal facial expressions involve eye and head position, since their faces aren't as mobile as a human or near-human. So a crease will appear between Thala's eyes right below the bone plate when she's worried, but otherwise most of her expressiveness I try to create with head position. She will "raise the eyebrow(s) she doesn't have" by tilting her head down and to one side or another, for example.

---///---

Somewhat related, in my mind Mon Calamari language has a lot of hums, guttural thrums, clicking, and lip-popping. They evolved from brackish shoreline and shallow water dwellers: muddy bayou, river deltas, mangrove forests, so their language would have needed to be audible in and out of water. Over thousands of years, the "water" form of Mon Calamari became *mostly* inter-intelligible with Quarren language, who evolved in deep water, so most Mon Cal and Quarren can make themselves understood to each other if for some reason they're not using Basic.

Not for now but, when she gets older, Mina from The Return to the Mysterious Island!

Personally for when Yda gets only I've imagined Shale from FFXIV Dawntrail!
(Minor dungeon spoilers for post-Dawntrail ffxiv. Listening to just the first 2 minutes should give a good idea ^_^)

full monk

A quirky character, but has just enough tone neutral lines for a perfect voice fit

I've used Dooku voice lines for quite some time now, so I'll just stick with that :D

Though I imagine Delmi's voice has gotten deeper and rougher as he's aged though just haven't updated them for quite some time.
