Greetings JEDI and Community,

In these forums, you will find everything you need to know about RPMod, a Jedi Academy Mod programmed by Soh Raun on his free time and made for the JKA Community.

What is RPMod?

RPMod is meant to enable role-playing clans (like JEDI) to offer an immersive RP experience to their members thanks to various means, such as: a broad range of emotes; modified and extended Force Powers; a complete Account System providing XP, Levels and Classes; many fixes, improvements and new features making JKA smoother to play; and much more.

However, RPMod is configurable and customizable enough to allow any kind of clan or public server to use it, be it for RP or not. Almost all features can be toggled; in fact, the only remaining changes when everything is disabled are the numerous bug fixes and small improvements, and the modified and extended Force Powers. RP clans also have full control over the Classes and Levels, the amount of XP required for each Force Power, whether or not to use Template Locking, etc.

Additionally, RPMod comes with the optional "Account Manager" module, allowing it to communicate with a Web Service hosted on jediholo.net. This service centralizes Accounts in a database, synchronized with the game server(s), and accessible through a simple Web Interface. When the public release will be made, clan websites will be welcome to access this interface directly or create/integrate their own in their web site through the Web Service SOAP API (easily accessible through PHP 5 or ASP.NET).

Availability:

Please note that until a public release is made, the server-side of this mod (which is required to make any use of it) will only be available on the JEDI server(s) for various reasons, including: lack of server-side documentation and support, major changes breaking everything, beta quality needing quick fixes and tests, full control over releases, etc.

This decision has been taken long before the first release and will stay in place. However, a Release Candidate will most likely be made available to a few selected clans before the release in order to test deployment, compatibility and support.

Suggestions and Community participation:

We speak of Community because we would like to hear from everyone, not only JEDI members, as this mod will be released later on on public places, such as JK3files, when it reaches version 1.0.0.

After reading about features and functions of the Mod, and if you have any more ideas that could bring another layer of perfection to our Mod, you are more than welcome to suggest your thoughts, opinions and the like in the appropriate boards.

Have fun with RPMod ;)
