Knight Samadhi and myself arrived to the office of Minister Lekaur Ordushi. We anticipated a meeting with the Minister, however, we did not anticipate the additional presence of Head of the Veyra Mining Consortium Hallik Orlan. Regardless, the meeting commenced cordially as Knight Samadhi began laying out the Order's concerns and wish to begin an investigation into the mine itself.
Mister Orlan took control of the meeting at the Minister's allowance due to being directly involved with the Veyra Mining Consortium as Head. Mister Orlan insisted that the Order's concerns were unfounded, based only in 'religious' belief of the 'make-believe' Force. Mister Orlan assured both Knight Samadhi and myself that they had already taken precautions in testing for radiation and other natural causes of the miners' reported illnesses and found the mine to be cleared of any of these issues. When confronted with the cause of the illnesses, Mister Orlan dismissed the concern as a 'bug' or 'viral' infection that occasionally passes through and eventually passes.
At this juncture, Knight Samadhi produced the documented evidence the Order holds of the miners' illnesses and the patterns of them. The patterns being that these illnesses presented as extreme fatigue, headaches, and gastric issues only when those afflicted were leaving the mine. When presented the evidence, Minister Ordushi appeared to be seeing reason until Mister Orlan again interjected. This disruption was accompanied by a touch to the Minister's shoulder. This action along with Mister Orlan's words swiftly changed the Minister's mind back to solidly agreeing that closing the mine and conducting further investigation was unnecessary and too much burden upon on the economy.
Knight Samadhi continued with attempting to reason with the Minister, as well as Mister Orlan. Though the pattern of the previous exchange remained. The Minister would seem to begin seeing sense, and as soon as he sounded like he may agree with us, Mister Orlan intervened both in words and touch. It was this pattern that drew my suspicion enough to invoke the use of my Force sense upon the Head of Veyra Mining Consortium. Mister Orlan exhibited a glowing aura to his presence, however, it was clear to me this was not emanating from Mister Orlan himself. Which led me to suspect he was in possession of one of the Force-imbued crystals. I covertly drew Knight Samadhi to my suspicion by asking Mister Orlan the policies of the mining company on removing anything from the mines' premises. Mister Orlan refused to comment on this question and began attempting to get the Minister to wrap our meeting.
Knight Samadhi stalled the Minister and Mister Orlan from concluding our meeting as I continued to sense further around Mister Orlan, wishing to be as certain as possible that he possessed a crystal before anything further was attempted. The Force instilled within me a near-certain feeling Mister Orlan held a crystal. Once this certainty was acquired, I used basic knowledge of Force telekinesis to pull the crystal from the man's vest pocket.
Once he was divested of the crystal, Mister Orlan grew incredibly ill. This occurred in a matter of seconds of the crystal leaving his person and landing upon the Minister's desk. Knight Samadhi took possession of the crystal before Mister Orlan could attempt reclaiming it. To prove to the Minister that this illness was emanating from the crystal, Knight Samadhi stepped to Mister Orlan's side with the crystal in hand. At close proximity, Mister Orlan appeared to recover. Not completely yet by large margin. Knight Samadhi then crossed the Minister's office. At distance, Mister Orlan was once more violently ill. With the crystal away from both the Minister and Mister Orlan, the Minister was more rational and agreed to open investigation from the Order into the mine.
My recommendations are as follows...
- Conduct investigation into the mine.
- Further investigate where crystals have been sold and traveled to as well as further persons, individuals or groups, as well as planets, that may be infected with these crystals.
- Following Padawan Uriel's previous recommendations of analyzing crystal samples as well as encouraging Force-sensitive individuals to enroll in local Praxeums for safety.
