Read first: how to report a bug

Post by Soh Raun »

Greetings JEDI and Community.

Here are the general guidelines you need to follow to report bugs of RPMod.

What is a bug?
This seems to be a simple question, but it's not necessarily so easy.
  • First, make sure what you assume to be a bug is not actually a feature.
  • Then make sure the problem isn't specific to you: ask other people if they experience the problem too.
  • Check your installation of RPMod, and make sure you always launch it with the shortcut created by the installer, or a custom shortcut containing +set fs_game rpmod (see the download thread for more information).
The Report:
  • Before anything, check if anyone already reported the bug. If yes, you can reply to the existing thread if you think you can add useful information or confirm the bug.
  • A bug report must be very detailed to define the problem as precisely as possible.
  • To be solved, a bug must be reproducible. Make sure to describe the steps to follow to reproduce it.
  • The thread's title must be explicit, not just 'Bug' or 'Problem'. Also, please add [NEW] at the beginning of the title (see below)
Bug tracking:
To make bug status tracking easier, the threads titles are prefixed by one of these words:
  • NEW: always use this word when you start a thread. It will then be changed as the status evolves.
  • CONFIRMED: the bug could be reproduced and will be fixed as soon as possible.
  • FIXED-DEV: the bug was fixed in the development version only. People will continue to experience it.
  • FIXED: the bug was fixed and depending on the kind of bug, the Server and/or the Client was updated. If this affected the Client, you will have to download it again.
  • REOPEN: if even after the bug was marked as FIXED you still experience it (with the latest Client), answer to the thread and the status will be changed to REOPEN. It will be re-fixed as soon as possible.
  • CLOSED: after a week with status FIXED, if no answers are posted, the bug will be closed.
  • WONTFIX: the bug will not be fixed; reasons are detailed in the thread.
  • INVALID: this is not a bug.
