New and Advanced Weapons (Not Sabers)

As Alkaiser said in the last Voice Council meeting, will there be weapon replacements to be new and advanced weapons since we are 225 years after the movies?

Is it possible to add weapons to the mod? :?:

It's possible to edit weapons, like the pistol, E-11, etc. to be more modern, but I don't think you can actually add weapons, unless you're a total GOD of coding. Like, you can edit how the weapon shoots and looks (like, i found a mod that replaces the Wookiee bowcaster with a bow, as in bow and arrow) but you can't edit the actual effect of it, I don't think. Unless you're a total GOD of coding.

All we need to do is replace them. Go check out MB2. There's a few great models there.

like the guns and detanators. we can add more advance looking weaponry with newer sounds, and different color bolts.

I would be willing to make some graphic effects for new projectiles, possibly some shader work if I have time. Modeling and skinning, sorry not on my table at the moment.

Why not lightsabers..?

.. We could also change our lightsabers to something else..? Like.. A mod to change our lightsaber to some new type of weapon..

Here's an example.. http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/Cable_Blade;71668 or http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/S ... Pack;70292..
And there's many more.. These ones doesn't look to good, but it's all I could find in 2 minutes.. I saw a nice ones few days ago on jk2files.com.

If you look at Star Wars canon, 255 years is nothing. I mean, KOTOR is 4000 years before Episode I, and the technology is barely different. It may warrant a tiny change in styling, but not a complete drastic change.

I don't know why you want to change these when no one really uses them. When the new RP-Mod comes out, it is avaliable to have permanent guns apperently, so i'm hoping to be equiped with a permanent bow-caster.

I agree.
While the style or the basic principle of the functionality and technology of weapons wouldn't be any different, the actual efficiency would.
I can imagine the blasters of ~250 AE/ABY being able to fire deadlier/hotter/bigger bolts than blasters of, let's say, around Episode 1 or earlier. Same goes for armour or battlefield-equipment. Bacta, for example, being somehow more refined and more efficient in wound-healing than it was 200, 500 or 1000 years ago. Or "common" Cortosis weave being able to better resist energy-based weapons than it would have earlier.
But real major changes such as a whole new technology or a drastic cosmetic change are rather unusual, in my opinion.
