Improved Force Tweaks

Hello,

I recently thought of a few things the other day, that could help out with realism from the mod. (Though I'm totally unsure if any of this is possible.)

Mind Trick - Having mind trick be effective per rank/level/XP. I.E. a Padawan with lvl1 mind trick cannot mind trick a Padawan with lvl2 sense. A higher level of sense negates a lower level of mindtrick, and vice versa. If a Jedi Knight with lvl4 mind trick tricks a Padawan with lvl1 sense, that Padawan shouldn't be able to overcome the Knight's mind trick.

I also think that it could possibly be good to add an extra stipulation for mind tricking someone you have a Force bond with. If I try to mind trick Marr, for instance, my mind trick level should be at least 2 levels above his sense, or something similar to that. Or, possibly just not being able to mind trick him at all.

Absorb - Absorb should only work for powers of an equal or lower level. If I have lvl3 absorb, it will absorb all powers lvl1-3, but anything lvl4-5 will break past my absorb.

I guess that's all I can think of right now, though I could've sworn there was more. If I think of more, I'll post it.

But, like I said, I have no clue if this is even possible, it's just something I thought of when training Asphar+Marr.

I think a randomizer would be more realistic than simply a fat NO for lower levels. Sometimes a lvl 1 sense can get lucky and overcome a mindtrick, via a rare set of circumstances. Realistically sometimes the little guy wins, albeit not often.

I like the mind trick idea, plus a +-1 randomizer for the sense user.

Absorb, on the other hand, already absorbs less depending on its level. Completely negative it based on level is a no no I'd say because you can still absorb partial contact at full power.

As is... level 4 storm knocks me down and I have level 3 absorb.

I like the mind trick idea. But for the randomizer, the first thought that popped into my mind was 'people will just try it again until they get the +1, if need be.'

And for absorb, I agree with Master Ederoi, that would probably make it not effective enough for a Force power.

Exactly, that's what I saw, but it also would continue to use up force points as they kept 'attempting' to pick them out of the force.

In regards to the randomizer flaw: increase Force costs, decrease regen rates, IMO both are realistic. Or perhaps a "recharge" limit, as per Force Fury/Rage.
