JEDI Weapons & Hilts || 25 August 2023

Installation:
  • DOWNLOAD JEDI_Weapons.pk3

    DOWNLOAD JEDI_Hilts.pk3

  • Place JEDI_Weapons.pk3 & JEDI_Hilts.pk3 into your Jedi Academy\Gamedata\JEDI folder (which also enables future auto-downloads) or use the RPMod launcher to update.
  • If you still have the old JEDIWeaponPack.pk3, please delete it, as well as any other previous packs.
Usage:
  • In game, open the Profile menu and click the Saber button to browse the list of sabers. The basic training lightsabers appear in yellow in this list, melee weapons in white, and datapads in cyan.

    Some weapons do not show up in the list.

    To use hidden weapons, open up the console by holding Shift + ~ (on a QWERTY keyboard). Then type in /saber followed by the code for the lightsaber. Below is the public weapon list. For a full list of all hilts in the pack, please download the attachment.
Training versions are in yellow.

REQUESTING ADDITIONS & CHANGES

The JEDI Hilt Pack is intended for residents who have constructed or obtained their own personal hilt in roleplay, having moved on from the basic training hilt.

It is the responsibility of the resident to obtain their redesigns. The maintainer will look for bugs in the .sab and .shader files and fix them to ensure the pack works correctly, but it is always helpful when things are submitted in working order. Please test your hilt thoroughly before submitting it for inclusion.

A few quick points for future packs:
  • From here on out, characters will be limited to 3 hilts. This does not include Departmental hilts as they are generally not personalised. This is to save space in the pack and assets in general.
  • Custom sounds can be added, though bare in mind there is a size limit to the pack. Please get permission if you want to use someone else's sounds (I will do my homework and double check with them).
  • Blade lengths will be judged by character model scale.
  • Custom moves such as DFA replacements and kata, as well as "ready animation", replacements are reserved for Knights+. As of 429.05, this rule has been amended: Students are able to use replacement moves as long as they are not excessive in nature or too advanced.
  • The "due by" date for future updates will be strict, meaning that if you miss said date, you will have to wait until the next pack release for you addition, update or removal. This is to lessen the time between due date and when the pack is rolled out. The majority of updates/additions for this release was done after my original due date which prolonged the pack's deployment.

Pending deployment, the hilt pack and updates will be live. As usual, should you find any bugs or issues, please contact me directly via Discord DM or forum PM.

PLEASE NOTE: Some hilts such as departmental and faction based hilts are being migrated to the JEDI_Weapons pack which will be released in the next few days. If you attempt to use a hilt like Temple Guard lightsaber within that time period, it will not appear until the JEDI_Weapons pack is updated and live. Please plan accordingly until then and apologies for any inconvenience this might create.

JEDI_Weapons update:

All factional and departmental hilts have been moved over to the JEDI_Weapons pack to save space on the normal hilt pack. The following addition have been made to the weapons pack outside of asset migration:
  • Basic Jedi hilt, with both normal and training settings (basic_jedi & t_basic_jedi respectively).
A update and overhaul to the Initiate and Padawan hilts have also been added, per discussions with our Battlemaster, Eli Tzineda. Please now follow the below ruling:

If you have not completed your gathering please use the white/colorless blade as you have been and equip the appropriate hilt:

  • t_young1 - short blade with training damage.
  • t_main1 - normal length blade with training damage.
  • t_yfull1 - short blade with normal damage.
  • t_full1 - normal length blade with normal damage
If you have completed your gathering, please use the color that was given and equip the appropriate hilt:

  • t_young2 - short blade with training damage.
  • t_main2 - normal length blade with training damage.
  • t_yfull2 - short blade with normal damage.
  • t_full2 - normal length blade with normal damage.
Please remember you should only be equipping the "full" damage hilts if that function has been unlocked by Knight+.

Once the JEDI_Weapons pack has been deployed, all changes will be live. Happy sabering!
