Awaiting connection indefinately...

After leaving the server earlier today I attempted to rejoin only to find an indefinite 'awaiting connection' message.

I've tried everything from removing firewalls, to connecting with /connect va312.mammothgames.net

the map no longer comes up when I 'get new list' yet I can find the Galaxy server no problem.

Suggestions?

(I refuse to accept that I have to reinstall Jedi Academy because I've not tampered with anything since disconnecting)

Reinstall ^_^ That's my suggestion.

Sounds like you're having the same problem I was having the other night.

I reinstalled and reconnected my modem. Something worked. :p

Remember the port is non-standard: it's 29074 now (instead of default 29070). So you need to add ":29074" after the IP or domain name. For example,
/connect va312.mammothgames.net:29074
If you still can't connect, check your Internet connection.

I'd also like to precise that reinstalling JKA is NOT a solution for 99% of the problems, and especially for network issues. In case of a major PK3 conflict, the best thing to do is to remove all subfolders in GameData except Base, and remove all PK3s from Base except the "assets".

I know for a fact that it has nothing to do with my install or the contents of my Base so I'm not going to reinstall. I'll try what you suggested Soh. I suspect there to be a port blockage at my end and firewalls don't seem to help. But I find it unusual that the server doesn't show up at all when I get new lists or refresh (when it did the previous day).

I connected using /connect va312.mammothgames.net:29074

worked fine.

When I then 'get new list' miraculously, the JEDI server showed up once more.

My guess is something nasty happened to my port last night and the issue fixed itself.

Joy.

Frustrating that the solution was to wait though, but never mind.

Thanks for your help everyone.

And he's passed it on to his Padawan.

I seem to remember the first advice I gave you on MSN was 'Wait it out' ^_^

No, the server is simply down at the moment (check the tracker).

Ah I checked my xfire and thought I had the same problem, my apologies.

Okay, now I'm having these issues, too. Is it just me, or was the other server more stable?

You do not have issues. The server has (or perhaps it's just planned maintenance by MammothGames).

*cough* RAUN *cough*

And I put the issue forward in case other people ever encountered the same problem.
