Sense Force Cost
Long-winded question.
Would it be possible instead of a single lump cost of Force points for Sense, and subsequently a certain time frame of having Sense be active, to instead have Sense activate a drain of FP, and, pending on level, alter the intensity (distance, etc) and FP consumed per unit of time?

That's actually a great idea. At lower levels, one would technically have to use a significant amount of concentration and, as you'd imagine for lower-ranked characters, a good amount of their Force energy reserve in order to allow their senses to reach beyond the confines of a few metres. 'I, Jedi' demonstrates this particular principle perfectly, to my mind, in showing how Corran Horn initially had difficulty in focusing merely on sensing remotes in his 'Sphere of Responsibility', until practice gave him a much sharper ability in that regard.
That said, I'd be inclined to say that the distance should increase and the FP cost decrease as you gain levels in Sense, due to a simple competency increase: powers become stronger and the exertion required to use them would naturally diminish as you became more and more used to it.
That noted, the bigger question to my mind is whether or not this would conflict with FP regen: as it stands, using Sense now takes a one-time chunk of FP and deactivates regen for the duration that it is used. If a gradual decline in FP is registered, would that also shut off FP regen for the duration, or take it into account? It might be fairly debilitating for Guardians and maybe even Sentinels to have a constant FP drain staving off regen until Sense is turned off. Not so much a problem for Consulars, but we've got good regen for FP - I can use Sense 2 and switch it off, and have regenerated the FP spent to activate the ability in the time it takes to reactivate the ability a second time. So I guess it'd be a matter of carefully balancing that one out.
But nice idea, Master Tekeil. I like it

I think everyone should be punished heavily for using any force at all. Thus, if they only need sense for 1 second and they use it and then they dont need it after that, tough.
I like the current system but if the majority vote for the new idea I'll go with it.

To choose doubt as a philosophy of life is akin to choosing immobility as a means of transportation.

Would be cool if ou could have some sort of consant effect while meditating. Not all meditation, but a special emote or something. Only using your level of coarse. But yeah, i like the ideas posted above.

This can be achieved if you rank above Knight using empower - it gives you a little fuzzy aura that looks kind of neat.Atrux Nuro wrote:Would be cool if ou could have some sort of consant effect while meditating. Yeah but what if everyone glowed like when you are using sense, so you could see them from anywhere in the temple (if your sense level is high enough)Jared wrote:This can be achieved if you rank above Knight using empower - it gives you a little fuzzy aura that looks kind of neat.Atrux Nuro wrote:Would be cool if ou could have some sort of consant effect while meditating.
