Force Speed Improvement

I've always felt its a bit odd to have someone less experienced be able to run the same speed as someone who's been training longer. Would it be possible to have each level of speed be a little faster than the last, rank one starting as just a bit faster than the normal run speed?

I don't know about that. Then shall we start accounting for differences in height and weight, as well as physical fitness?
Seriously, the system is scaled for that one pretty well already. Most of the '30-year-olds' are also level 15 or above, which means they have sufficient XP in their accounts to have Level 2-3 Force Speed as opposed to a 10-year-old Level 3 who will have enough for Level 1 Force Speed.

lol i think she meant a difference in 'speed' ability, not running around like normal. Currently, the only thing the different speed ability levels offer are longer durations, not variations of speed.
I'd give this a thumbs up if it was possible.

More stars: faster speed, longer duration.
Oh wait, this isn't Dark Forces II...

Eh, Not sure if it's a great idea. Probably something. I can see it how each and every person use's the same amount of speed manipulated by the Force. But, couldn't the higher ranks of Force Speed just be used as higher concentration to run longer, rather than faster?

Which is kind of an exploit. (Not that it's intentional or world-changing in anyway.)
I support this.
When I first took Speed Rank 2 I actually thought it WOULD make me sprint faster but discovered it only made me sprint longer.
I say if this is being implimented, that the difference only be noticable and not too dramatic.
I do feel kind of jipped taking Speed 2 when really, all it does is last slightly longer and cost more FP's than Speed 1. I could have just used multiple Speed Rank 1's.
It's kind of disappointing to know Speed will never really change and it makes ranking it up to feel a bit pointless. The reason I say this is, there is no Force Regeneration when Speed is activated and half the time I cancel out the Speed ability before it finishes just so I can jump up a ledge or perform a lunge..
Having a slight speed increase would display an actual difference to the ability. It would be encouraging.
Obviously i'd take care not to increase the speed too much. There are 5 levels of this baby and you don't want the speed to go up in such high incriments that by the time you reach level 5 your breaking the sound barrier.

Check out how Force Speed works on OJP Enhanced Mod:
When just tapped, Force Speed gives you an impulse to jump higher and longer; the JKBase effect happens when you hold the key for more than an instant.
Would be pretty useful for that kind of use you mentioned, Vantus.
Once implemented with same duration (or slightly variations) and faster effect for each level, it'd become quite neat power (feature) to invest.

Keep in mind: the faster you go, the less control you'll have.

That was my point at the end of my post.
It's why I agree with the suggestion and I believe any alteration should be slight but at least noticable.

I see no problem with this. How bout a nice big annoying boom too. And blur effects that stretch the whole map. And a new animation that makes the person just fly foward with rocket blasts coming out of their boots
Well I guess it wouldn't be running anymore at that point. But still, how awesome would that be lol

For it to work, I wouldn't suggest level one being the current speed it uses. You'd have to slow it down a bit, with having 3 be the standard speed, then the higher levels being a bit faster. It would make the progress seem more gradual, and leave the enhanced speeds to those who want to go that far to take it. Because really, how often is speed needed on our maps beyond the first level or two? I think this change would give people more reason to take it.

You need at least Speed 3 in order to run up that fan and get the last secret, so you get three stars instead of just two!!
Oh wait, this isn't Dark Forces II...

If my suggestion is anything like that game, I didn't know. I've never played it.

I think that the way speed is right now should be the fastest. Master Tekeil was right about having less control, I think. I think it would be a smart idea to slow down the first levels of speed so that you work up to what it is now.
