Dismemberment

We all know the dismemberment features adds a whole new realm of realism in the game. Its fun to watch an NPCs head bounce off after you defeat. Anyways...I notice that if you severe any part of a model, the part does NOT disappear with the NPC. Is there any way it can be changed to where both the parts and the body disappear if slashed or if it disappears by itself?
Also, I noticed if you cut a corpse it bursts into flames...Is there anyway of modifying that?
Questions, comments, concerns?

Gabe already reported this as a bug:

I never saw a dismembered NCP or Non-NPC actually...
The flame part should obviously be removed.

Ah. My apologies Master Raun. I did not realize he did so, nor did I realize it qualified as a glitch/bug.

The flame bursting comes with the enhanced effects pack, I believe. The reasoning for it is that typically the corpses we encounter are those of training programs we've fought, and so it makes sense that if you attack a downed robot, it'll explode.
I'm not a big fan of the effect, but it makes sense, and as such I don't have any problems with it.

Robots? Aren't they holograms?

We've always rp'd they're droids with holograms emitted over them. A simple hologram can't inflict damage, block a lightsaber, or "use the Force"....

Say hello to the
Solid-State Hologram. Technology has advanced a little bit since the Clone Wars

That's from Star Wars Tales, which is non-canon, so THERE!

True, but there's also implied use of this technology in the Young Jedi Knight books, where the Shadow Academy used 'simulation technology' to facilitate combat practice. Besides, do you know how expensive a single R5 unit is? So when we spawn a dozen of them and destroy with our lightsabers, isn't that a little expensive to repair and/or repurchase?

And this is why we don't delve too deep into details when RPing
I was explaining the explosion thing as it was explained to me, that's all.

Fair enough. Just wanted to be sure one way or the other

Dismemberment: I did not know we even used.
Flames: I kind of like it when you slash them on the ground and they go up in a flash.

I found Jared's explanation of why the holograms behave as if they were solid objects to be more satisfactory.
I think it never made it to be an official explanation though. Shame.
