The Jedi Temple...

Post by TristanCross »

So, I wanted to go and play in the Jedi Temple. I got this message:
Error:

Couldn't load

maps/a2_beta4_day.bsp
So, I downloaded the map, put the pk3 file in the Base folder...and tried again. I got the same error.

I've tried renaming things, adding a "maps" folder in GameData, etc. Can someone help me?

You should extract the map into the 'Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\rpmod' folder.

Base folder works just fine also. either or. Make sure you place the pk3 in which ever folder and not the whole zip file.

That won't make any difference. Confirm that you added the pk3, and not the zip, into your base folder. Confirm that your archive program didn't extract it to Gamedata (this is a common problem with some archivers). Confirm that your archiver did not extract the pk3 into a subfolder named a2_beta4/ in your base folder.

If none of those are the issue, let us know.

You cannot play solo games with RPMod. In order to play a solo game you'd have to run JKA vanilla.

Joining our server works though.

When you want to play Solo Games (for map testing etc), just remove the Jedivehicles.pk3. Unless you've also downloaded the maps for the Galaxy server, in which case, you'll need to remove any that add extra vehicles (such as flight maps).

I wasn't trying to play a solo game. I was trying to join " The ::Jedi:: Temple".

Then you have too many vehicles/maps with vehicles in your base folder my friend. Might want to try removing a few to a seperate folder (providing you want to keep them) so you can drop them back into base from time to time when you want to play them..

Indeed, and also put everything that has to do with ::JEDI:: in RPmod folder.
which helps you have clean base from time to time.

No, RPMod solves the vehicle extension error. I have over 80 vehicles in my database, and I have no trouble.

It sounds to me like you're not launching RPMod at all. Are you using the special shortcut that the RPMod installation created, or are you launching base JKA? Did you use one of the manual installation methods, and create the shortcut yourself?
