emknockdown

I personally use this feature rather too much, as the ones that RP with me already know
By using it I noticed that I can't activate it in mid-air. As it is a knockdown, it is expected that you CAN do it mid-air, like, rping a hard push or simply falling.
That's the suggestion, simple. We should make emknockdown able to be activated mid-air...

Binds and quick fingers would allow you to do the emote right when you land the jump. Just takes some practice.
Easier still, don't do RP where you feel like you should have to do that.

It's a strange thing, to want to fall better *hmm*?

Not exactly, he just wants to roleplay the fullest of his character. Is that so strange? I don't think so.. as for falling I think more emotes need to be added in general.

Well, I have to press my bind several times for it to finally work, apparently it likes to finish the landing animation before letting me do anything. That's what I want to avoid.
On the other hand, imagine that you were pushed and you are falling (I'm not saying from the 50ft tall elevator or outside, just a small fall of 3-4 feet would do). If you were pushed, wouldn't it be realistic to actually fall already knocked down?
Of course, all of this is some minor stuff, but I wouldn't see a reason to not make it available mid-air, unless it is too hard to code/impossible
Oh and I simply fall a lot, I'm kind of dumb, not even close to super-skills. If I try something new, I fall. A lot. What would you expect from a 5-years-old kid?

No. When this is enabled (like in JA+), it can be abused as an exploit.

I think you are confusing what he is suggesting.
In JA+ the character is automatically launched into the air, and can immediately use the bind over and over again with appropriate timing. Ruluk is asking that we be able to activate it while in the air so that we can hit the ground on our backs like we probably should.
As for avoiding that type of RP, that is akin to telling a frog to avoid swimming when it can. If it is too difficult to do then we understand and accept that it cannot be done. However if it doesn't take much to do it doesn't make sense to dismiss it as too small, since every feature involved in RP makes it richer and more enjoyable for all. A youngling is a child-they are not agile, they are not mature, and they certainly can't sit in one place for very long. To avoid RPing things such as falling or any other event for that matter seems more unrealistic than the lack of flexibility in the emote itself. Simply put, younglings will fall and do fall on practically on a daily basis. I'm certain ::falls:: would be rather droll, wouldn't you agree?
However, as I said-If it can't be done it can't be done and there is hardly use worrying about it. Good suggestion though ^_^

I really do not think anyone in JEDI would use this as a potential exploit. I do not think the "vertical" slap part of the animation from JA+ is being suggested, just simply the falling on the back. The code already exists for the animation so it is a good suggestion in terms of refining emote usage.

Just ^7::Falls on his behind:: Should be sufficient. Then do /emknockdown.
And if it can be used as an exploit, no thank you...

Ahh, flying across the air with knockdown. Good times.

Why dismiss something that can easily be fixed? We have already established that it isn't the same knockdown as JA+ so I don't see the problem...

And I don't think anyone would exploit it, if they did then they'd be dealt with correctly. We're supposed to be trusted and mature here, so it's not that much of an issue.

As with any suggestion, what happens with it in the end is up to Soh really. I can understand where this would/could be useful. I wouldn't place it on top of the priority list mind you but I don't see the harm either. ANY ability/command/emote has the potential for abuse/spamming. I'd hope we would all be able to show a little restraint and if not, I'd expect an admin to step in anyway.
Not a priority as far as I am concerned but I can see it's usefulness.

Well, I think that the exploit can only be used while having at least jump 1, and I think that JEDI members wouldn't use an exploit like that in roleplay..so, I don't see a problem with in-air knockdown
