Limping Animation
I know some of us have been in situations where realisticly our characters should of limped because they got hurt. I was wondering if It'd be possible for an animation such as /emlimp for that purpose. Edit : Please

Oh, that's a very good idea. Though because RPMod only uses base animations, this means that someone would have to make a new animation just for the limping action. Sadly, I don't think we have any animators in ::JEDI::

Good suggestion, Ethan. I also support this.

Wouldn't it need to be a toggled animation? I mean, if you just use \emtoggle, it'd be a one-time play animation. You'd need to set it up to replace the standard run/walk so that you could move with a limp, program in a speed decrease to reflect the IC reasons for the animation change, and establish a toggle to move between the two.
It's more than just a question of animation.

I was just thinking of a way to limp I really don't know How it works just that It would be a good adition to rpmod.

Well that may be true but if that were the case why work for anything? Why continue to improve the rpmod at all if we can just ::---:: every little action?Ametha Tasia wrote:Hours and hours of work could be resolved with simple ::--:: Just my take on it though.
In my opinion the ::---:: exists because and ONLY because of limitations that prevent the possibility of it ever happening in JKA. For instance-::grabs food from cabinet and then sighs loudly, wiping the sweat from his brow:: even in the event that each of these concepts were scripted as an animation, it wouldn't be possible to follow them up with the appropriate speed allotted for the action. Ergo, we rely on ::---::. However this feature (and again this is my opinion) isn't something to be taken lightly, and should be only used when appropriate animations can't be used. If one can be made that would eliminate the need for it, then I believe it should be done if someone is up to it. We'd still be reading under candle light had Edison not invented the lightsa--bulb, Which took far more than mere hours. Working yields results. If we put an effort into it we could get so much out of rpmod. Therefore it is of my own opinion that the phrase "it isn't really needed" or "why do that when we can just do ::---::" translates to "I'm content with not making progress."
No offense Miss Ametha :3

As for the suggestion, it's brilliant. A toggle would be a good idea for it anyways, since you don't just limp on and off; it'd be something that lasted till you healed.
Ethan you're stealing my creative thunder here

Again, not really needed. You can do it yourself, with ::'s as mentioned or by another way, which is pretty damn obvious . I'd rather have something else be worked on other than this. What though is another question.
Besides, reminds me of that suggestion Li came up with, or whoever it was, about getting slower and stuff when you had low HP. Just ugh.

I support this and the realism behind it.
What I think is that there are some actions that can be completed with visual events, like walking faster if you need to, without running (in RL, when you are in a hurry, walking faster is what you obviously do), and the same would apply with things like this, which are actually more important than walking faster. It's kind of stupid to go pressing W every once in a while, and add "::---::" when there is a chance that an animation can show up.
Second, animation is more worthy if it is constantly used. Limping is something that fits into this atmosphere very well. It could be done very often. We are in a location with constant fighting, and this definitely fills a big role here, while there are other actions that would just fill small roles and therefore are less valuable.

You know this community didn't need RPMod either yet here we are rocking with an awesome mod, so I say if it can be done why not? The more features in RPMod the better in my opinion. I think there was a post awhile back about having more emotes and animations anyways.
But at the same time if we don't get it i'm not really going to cry about it.
