Wouldn't it be great to raise your hand or use your comm while sitting, instead of having to wait for the exaggerated animation of getting up?

It has been mentioned before, and without new animations, 'tis not possible, apparently.

I am not sure, and Soh may take me down on this, but I believe that the source code can take animations from torso and from legs, separately. That's why the use item bug exists. However, there are animations that use both together to work, and when these are playing you can't do anything else. Things like rolling, jumping, or sitting use the whole body for the animation.

Unless a new animation is made that only uses the legs part, and not the torso part, it can't be done. Or maybe a whole new animation must be done that lets you sit and have your arm raised already?

Of course, I may be wrong in everything XD

I could be wrong, but I think for what people are talking about, new animations for that sort of stuff would be needed. Don't quote me on that though.

From messing around in modview, damn near every animation that involves legs involves the upper body as well.

There are a few animations that use only the upper body, such as several hand gestures, and facial emotes, assuming all models are properly weighted in the mouth and face.

Yeah sorry, I'd support this but Ametha is correct.
